So akong pangutana. Since Rome became a Christian empire under Constantine I and not long collapsed did the Christianization of the Roman Empire caused or contribute its downfall in the hands of the barbarian hordes which started the Middle Ages?

The Roman empire faced many struggles that time and one is the rise and influence of Christianity. For years they’d been locked in a dance between all out persecution and acceptance. Mura’g tug-of-war The empire’s Pagan roots versus the monotheistic views of the Christians, along with their newly embraced doctrines in the new testament which crept in the face of the civic religion of the Empire.

Over time Christianity’s influence began to spread and with conversion of Emperor Constantine, the Catholic Church was well on its way to become a major force. This was also the time in which the citizens were being asked to ‘turn the other cheek,’ and the military death cults were being dismantled, sakto pud they were attacked by the barbarians.

In the end, it was through a series of interconnecting political, economic, and social factors that weakened the Western Roman Empire and more importantly, its army, thus preventing it from defending the Empire.
