ang ako rabang nahibaw-an nga achievement ni MDLS is pag pirma ra sa 2002 recall against ni mayor tommy. hehehe

para lang ni MDLS. I don't consider this as an achievement. hehehe tan-aw lang nako, kung ma mayor ni ngari, mas wa pa ni ayu ni alvin garcia.

i am not physically in cebu now but i left just very recently so I am very much aware of the achievements of MDLS.

well,for starters, she has gone ahead and made the move to improve the barangay hall of lahug.
she has imrpoved the delivery of basic services to her constituents in barangay lahug.
she has made sure that lahug remains a clean barangay as can be.
she had a project for senior citizens by providing them with the flu vaccine through her own fund raising.
she has worked to provide her poor constituents with water pumps (for those in the outskirts and can not provide or afford this)
she has kept her record clean (definitely uncorrupt)
she has had bridges and foot paths created for those living in the squatters area for the poor constituents.
she has maintained good relationships with the business in lahug because they know that she can deliver, she is principled, and she is clean (untainted by the ways of traditional politicians)
she has been awarded the most oustanding barangay captain in the philippines.
her lupong tagapamayapa has been awarded the most outstanding lupon tagapamayapa in the whole philippines under her leadership.
she has the leadership capabilities, else, pagsugod ug pangamang sa iya kontra partido sa barangay elections, napildi na unta siya.(pagsugod ug pamalit sa kontra partido sa iyahang mga leaders at 20k per family)
dili magpadaog daog even when tommy himself started picking on her (so we know that she definitely will not allow anyone to bully her jsut because they are in power)
kung naay calamity sa lahug, kinsay mangunay? hands on si mdls na naa didto. she will drop whatever she is doing to be there first hand...bisan pa tunga sa gabii...now that is a true public servant...disregarding herself and making the needs of other people/constituents her priority.
and I know there are many more that I jsut can not recall.

if all classes in lahug (the rich, middle class, poor and the really poor) trust her, what makes other people not. Given limitted resources and help, she was able to achieve a lot...what more with given the key to the city.... we need someone who is idealistic, principled and definitely puts the needs of the people before her own...
Lahug has grown and has prospered, not only because of Tommy, it is because of the hardwork of the barangay captain because she has earned the trust of businesses and the people. Tommy is not the one who is there first hand kung naay sunog sa Lahug or other baranggays. Its the barangay captain ang maguna the frontline.

can u name some? unfortunately, i am not there right now to be able to see the changes...so can u just name some?i am not physically in cebu now but i left just very recently so I am very much aware of the achievements of MDLS.which is which? maybe your eyes shuts off automatically when they sense that you're nearing the boundaries of Lahug.. funny..

if you haven't noticed, you're VERY MUCH AWARE of what's happening in Lahug, infact you came up with a very detailed list of MDLS' achievements that only her closest aides would know about. and I admit, I noticed some of the changes too myself. BUT telling all of us in this forum that you're not able to see the changes in other parts of Cebu City, who are you kidding? at least most of the posters here are open-minded enough to have noticed the positive output MDLS has shown in her barangay that they're giving her some props for a job well done. but for you to dismiss Tomas' achievements outright as if he was just sitting on his fat arse all those years isn't helping you win your case. it would only further alienate would be MDLS' voters 'coz you're not doing a good job in selling her to Cebu City residents.

nice try. but the poll in this thread is still 70-30 in favor of T.O. one piece of advice, abandon your current strategy for a new and improved one. come back to me when it's 50-50. maybe the "idealistic, principled and definitely puts the needs of the people before her own.." speech would hit the voter's soft spot.. nahh..
