ako i believe i have a soul, Christ gave me the gift of salvation through his death so my soul have a chance to live with God.
so i must take care of His gift of salvation by aligning my body and spirit with God's will not to waste His sacrifice.
(at least this is my understanding about how a soul works...it is our soul that goes back to God or otherwise on jedgement day)
