Every day, computers are in need of upgrading and repair. Luckily, the companies that make these machines built them with this in mind. Laptop keyboards aren't always built for durability, and they can often break or lose keyboard buttons. The
HP Pavilion G7-2000 Keyboard is no exception, but luckily, the HP Pavilion keyboard is only $24 at some online stores. Either way, it will need to be eventually replaced. Although it will take some concentration, you can skip the computer store and replace your laptop's computer keyboard with a small screwdriver and 20 minutes of your time.
Remove the battery and/or AC adapter from your laptop. Even when your computer is turned off, your battery can surge power from the hardware, permanently damaging the components. It's better just to take it out altogether.
Flip the laptop upside down, and locate the screws that keep the strip cover in place. They will be at the end of the laptop, with 2 screws on the sides, and 1 screw in the middle. Remove these screws using the small Phillips screwdriver.
Flip the laptop back over, and open up the LCD display as far as possible. Using a flat head screwdriver, peel up the strip cover of your notebook. This is the plastic cover that is directly above the
HP Pavilion G7-2000 Keyboard.
Remove the 4 screws that are now exposed after you removed the strip cover. These hold the keyboard onto the computer.
Lift the keyboard up until you can see the ZIF connector connected to the computer. Simply tug on this connection until it pulls out of the socket. The keyboard will now be free of the laptop.
Grab your replacement
HP Pavilion G7-2000 Keyboard, and reverse the above steps to connect it back to your laptop.
