Idol, i think you get him wrong. I know kryptocrap personally coz skulmate mi and nagkaabot sad mi sa LRDC before. Murag ang iya experience ra man sa LRDC ang iya gipasabot ana boss, dili man ang SQA/SQE as a whole. Kay functional testers ra man gyud ang kasagaran testers didto. Wala'y involvement sa test planning and strategy ang majority sa contractor testers. Except lang sa chosen few na project leads nga naay micro project management role.

Tinoud man gyud na relax ra sad gyud ang trabaho namo sa una sa LRDC samot na kung tester kay hulat ra man sa tasks na ihatag sa PLs. Pwede ra sad maninja moves ang mga test results.

I agree sa imong mga points pero case to case basis ra sad kay dili man tanan company pareha og job description nimo. Dili man mga delicate servers ang gipangtest namo didto. Mga printer drivers with 3-10months na development timeline before i-release sa market ang kinatibuk-an na product.

less challenges? have you check, test, diagnose or decompress servers or storage?? i'm not talking to common servers that you see in internet cafe. .im talking about servers for companies, like call center. try to google rack servers you'll know what i mean. . sa accessories ug specs palang nosebleed nka. . . I also do installation of hardware and software, before i hatag sa client elang orders

Lesser ang challenges kay manual ang testing, gamay ang scope sa testing due to the nature of the product nga gamay ray (printer driver). Again it was based from my experience. I wasn't speaking on behalf of the entire contractors/testers at LRDC.

I've seen others gained more experience and skills on this field when they moved to other firms such as NRC, InfoWeapons and etc. In my case, I went to a different way.

PS - Yeah I know rack servers, no need for me to google those. I work for a hosting provider in SG for 3 years. My day-to-day task deals with Linux clusters that runs on rack, blade and SAN servers in 3 different Data Centers there.

Of course I understand that this is a broad field. I am not saying that everyone in software testing (or QA, or whatever is it) are doing the same thing with same challenges.
eg - others may be doing some kind of entry level testing in a certain software (I used to belong here 6 years ago), while others might be doing test on a very complex enterprise system using applications that are worth multi million dollars (okay you belong here? fine with you? *_*)

Kalma lang bai kay pareha rata tnan dri nag testing unsa ba. nya, daghan pd klasi sa testing so naa xay nindut ug bati in their own way so kalma lang ang kalahi lang dako imong sweldo. >:P
