    M@rv|n:

Have you been in Lahug's barangay hall years ago? I have been...it was gross (this is the best way I could describe it). Now, the barangay hall stands asa a symbol of the the improvements.
MAD just recently had a project to aid the old people of Lahug, whether they were Tommy's or her supporters. I would love to attach the link, but I just forgot exactly when that was. She had a flu vaccination for the old people. (thanks to her initiative of approaching businesses and the residents of Lahug, with no help from the Mayor)
She has made sure there was delivery of basic services to the people to the best of her power and reach, up to the point of using her own resources.
She has had mass weddings for the poor who can not afford to get maried (this happens every year in December).
She has had foot paths and bridges created for the areas in Lahug that is not accessible.
Whenever there is a calamity in Lahug, automatically, bisan unsa orasa...she will leave what she is doing and be there ASAP to assist the people. Hands on siya ani.

Oh and did I forget to mention, she awarded by the president, last last year I believe, as the Most Outstanding Barangay Captain in the whole Philippines. Her Lupong Tagapamayapa was awarded the Most Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa under her leadership.

And honestly, there were so much more but I don't think I can enumerate them all.

Well Marvin, if MAD loses, there is no shame in losing. It is better to have tried and lost than never have tried at all. Atleast she will not have to wonder about the what if's...atleast that is what I believe....hehehe! If it is her time, it will be her time.

nothing against MADS really. however, i've heard over radio that tomas' help and projects there are being shooed away by MADS just because she doesn't like tomas and that they are not of the same party.

she can get all the reward she deserves but you can't possibly convert that into something that's gonna benefit her constituents. in truth and in fact, tomas has the ace up his sleeves. all that comments tomas made that triggered MADS to run was a calculated move.

but hey, i like MADS a lot. she's every bit human and a person with a lot of heart. as she always says on her interviews, our leadership in the city lacks that - a heart. unfortunately, you don't get things done with that alone. you need a lot of political will, strong resolve, huge sacrifice and no non-sense attitude to run a city like ours.

btw, i voted for MADS in this thread's poll.

the problen of MADS here is she is running under Genuine Opposition. In the first place, CEbu City has been known as Arroyo country since she assumed her presidency on 2001.

In 2001, Tommy run for mayor under People Power Coalition and won by a slim margin over Alvin Garcia.

In 2004, Tommy was re-elected under K-4 and was again reelected over Alvin Garcia, which he run under Kusug-KNP (the party of FPJ).

This 2007, Tommy will likely win this coming elections. He will represent Team Unity, depsite in my presonal choice that I am not a Team Unity fanatic.

So Cebu City is GMA country. Tommy will win this.

goryo13: MAD does nto shoo any projects and help fro Tomas. Especially since projects and help will be for the best interest of Lahug. Tomas has not offered any help or assistance. And in reality, Tomas has been blocking or delaying a lot of requests by MAD so she had to turn towards other alternatives. And she has the political will and attitude Goryo. I said it before, and ill say it once more, if she was able to turn around Lahug, imagine of the great things she can do for Cebu.
I wish there will be a debate between Tommy and MAD. That is a debate to wait for.

Tomas is without question a very good administrator. Ang kana lang iyang "God-complex" maoy diperensya. Hands down he'll win against Ms. delos Santos.

If only Vice Mayor Mike Rama would've run against Tomas...heheh!

Tatak osmeña... madinumtanon?Tomas is without question a very good administrator. Ang kana lang iyang "God-complex" maoy diperensya.nobody's perfect. are you willing to take the good ones with the bad? that's the question.

^ this is when we make decisions, hard ones:

Is the "bad side" of Tomas really that bad? would that overshadow his overall capability to handle his responsibilities as a Mayor? what do you think about / what do you remember everytime you hear the name Tomas? would you remember the positives OR the negatives? have we reached that point where we feel ashamed to be Cebuanos when Tomas gets on the news?

if you answered NO to most of the questions above then why have another Mayor in Tomas' place?

with MDLS, I understand, there's a lot of upside but there's also a lot of uncertainties that come with it. all of us haven't seen the worst part of her but we've witnessed Tomas'. we haven't seen how MDLS handle pressure but we've seen how Tomas deal with it in a cool and calculated fashion. we've all experienced Tomas in action but we haven't seen MDLS, except for some people here and maybe some brgy. Lahug residents. (and guys, if you haven't seen / experienced both a Mayor's and a Barangay chief's job first hand in terms of their daily activities, let's stop comparing the two).

this isn't about the similarities of MDLS's situation to Tomas' when he came into Cebu's political arena as a newbie with just his family name and a suit case in tow. does that mean the end-result will be the same? so given Tomas' success now, would that follow that MDLS's governance would be like Tomas' given their similarities? (BTW could you guys help me analyze why Tomas won by JUST USING HIS SURNAME to his advantage that time. please compare that with MDLS's and whom she's up against RIGHT NOW. I'm just curious.)

this is about us Cebuanos "getting lucky" for giving ALL OUR TRUST to a neophyte like Tomas who turned out to be a "very good leader" in the process. I also do understand that MDLS is better, by about an inch, than Tomas was when both run for Mayor for the first time respectively. but would you trust blind fate AGAIN when choosing your next Mayor RIGHT NOW?

I also know that MDLS's supporters here would gladly TRUST the keys to the City of Cebu to a newcomer like MDLS, like what the Cebuanos did to Tomas, but I do have this nagging question that needs to be answered:

do you think lightning could hit the same spot twice?
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

tomas gihapon ko oi kay, why need new face sa mayorya kun maayo man ang dagan sa atong syudad? bisides City is too big for her to handle I guess, she could have start being a counsilor and well see unsay iya mahimu para sa sugbo, and cguro next time na sya mo run para mayor na dili na mo run si Tomas kay last term naman ni Tomas ron and that time naa cguro purohan na makada ug sya. Basin sunod Governor napud si Tomas. DI ba cool?

On the other hand, kun sa MAndue pa hinuon ka ni run pagka mayor butar cguro ko nimu and mangam panya pako para ni Mary ANN., wa manay ayos OUANO corrupt kaayo, dako lang tiyan, hehhehehe...
