If you own a 4wd drive vehicle you can just use the 2wd mode, anyway it depends on the variant of a given vehicle, most 4x2 models are the base variant, lets take the hilux for example, a 4x2 model cost less than 4x4 model consequently you get less features out of the car, smaller tires, lesser freebies, and sometimes a different engine displacement (lower horsepower)
Anyway for vehicles with 4wd it is not advisable to use 4wd all the time, specially on pavement, this causes excessive tire wear, noise and probably ruins your drive train and transmission. I've seen so many examples of broken drive train because the 4wd was set and people tend to think you handle it the same way like a sports car, if on 4x4 you should never accelerate quickly nor run past 70kph even if your on 4H more so when your 4Lo , (this part is written all over your manual and in the visors)
Here is another example of the difference between 4x4 and 4x2 model
nissan navara: 4x4 models have leather interior, bigger stock tires and a different bumper, 4x2 have smaller tires, fabric interior and a different bumper.
For vehicles with real time 4wd, then you dont have a choice, the car chooses what drive for you, depending on conditions just like an auto trans.
My conclusion, go for a 4x4 variant, Even though its more expensive but you get more out of a car, probably you wont ever use it's 4x4 function but it's good to know it's there, a 4x4 can be a 4x2 while a 4x2 can never be a 4x4.
If your worrying about gas consumption, if you set the 4x4 to 4wd then there's a difference but if you set your 4x4 to 2wd then the difference is negligible (provided they have the same displacement)
Anyway a 4x4 vehicle gets you stuck in even more inaccesible areas than a 4x2. Hahaha
haha pytera sa thread oist...hahaha up for you TS
AFAIK kay if i engage nimo ang 4WD kay bug-at sa makina. so if dili kinahanglam, angay i 2WD lang. pero sa mga bag-o nga awto kay murag auto naman.
murag kung mag 4x4 kai dli kalas og ligid?
