thank you!!! i miss all the original LAPU-LAPU BASED BANDS - PAINTED FLESH, INDEX, VOLUMEUS MAXIMUS, BLUEWORM, SDS UG UBAN PA. LET'S DO A ONE TIME CONCERT FOR OUR ISLAND. THE GREATES ISLAND IN THE PHILIPPINES - LAPU LAPU!!!

Lapu-Lapu Based Bands Organization was founded on June 1, 1990. The idea came from Nalz Patigas and Jane Ramos both were also founders of the all-female band Painted Flesh. This was supported by Erwin Monton of Index band. They were so patriotic about the bands who are all basically based only OPON or LAPU-LAPU. The requirement to be a member of this organization is to have at least 3 members of the band who are based and "locally grown" from Lapu-Lapu.

The original members as far as I can remember were:

VOLUMEOUS MAXIMUS
SDS
RAMCIS
BLUEWORM
INTENSITY
RUTHLESS
ABOVE THE REST
......

I believe there's more but those were the top I can remember from the heart. It was way back during their college days where they don't eat lunch but saved up their lunch money to pay for practice. Don't use their cars but saved up gas money and ride the jeepneys instead.

The Painted Flesh all-female original members were based in C.I.T. -Cebu Institute of Technology except for Vanessa Naya who was a USC-University of San Carlos student. All these girls were Computer Engineering students back then and all graduated and are now spread all over the continent pursuing their dreams and enjoying their life. En-En Cabije in Kentucky, Sheila Mijaries in Dubai, Nalz Patigas in the U.S. and Jane Ramos in Alaska. But, the best moment in their lives they all agreed, were during the hey days of being in PAINTED FLESH. The concerts, the wild supporters, the other bands love and support. It was crazy but fun. Those were the best moment of their lives. Carefree and just playing their music-their passion.

Jane Ramos and Nalz Patigas then reunited Painted flesh and LLBO-Lapu Lapu Based Bands Organization in 1999. With the new recruits who were also on the top caliber of the field of music were nonetheless, Myla on Keyboards. Jane Ramos' vocals and drum teacher in the Yamaha School of Music. And as Jane always say every live concert, her idol on drums-TAIWAN MONTEBON and the legendary on bass guitar-LEOX GODINEZ. There was also a time when they have Manny as their rhythm guitarist.

Whenever Painted Flesh plays, side by side were INDEX and the ABYSS. THE REAL ROCKERS IN THE CEBUANO WORLD OF MUSIC. The legends of Batang Boutan, Rock Against Drugs and Realization.

The burning passion continues... music lingers and love and soul reunites. Let's continue the tradition of old Rock and Roll music in OPON. Let the legend live on! Spread the word and only spread music and love. AFTER ALL, WE ARE the children of LAPU-LAPU. The first Philippine Hero. WE ROCK!!!

let us all pause for a second... to commemorate the death anniversary of agood friend and a pioneer in lapu-lapu's rock scene... bassist of SDS and the lead vocalist of BLUEWORM.... Jonathan "BULOY" Legara, who passed away 2 year's ago tomorrow (april 17)
