Inquiring about VPN

Bros, I would like inquire about VPN. I dont know if Globelines have this because we are using Globelines Broadband in our office. If they have, how much is that? If they dont have what other Internet Provider have it? And then how much? Please give me an info about this. Thanks.

i suggest you ask globelines or globequest if you need IP-VPN services from them, they can answer your inquiry much better than anybody.

if you want to setup a VPN network using your dsl or broadband connection, you need to have a VPN router, firewall or software to make this work, no added cost to pay just the dsl subscription.

dsl via broadband may be slow for your needs, but this depends entirely on your network requirements.

Mahal ra ba na bai. Try lang inquire sa premium service sa Bayantel, PLDT ug Globe. Unsa diay ka importante ninyo ang VPN? I can share you my recipe on VPN with your existing resources.

Ingridient: server 2003 in each site with static public ip address (given by your isp)

PM me kung everything is set, panghulam lang sa imo mga migo ug server 2003 (R2 is better) or download ba kaha ka.

This is for AFORTALIZA, and the rest of you who wants to try.

Ayaw na lang mo palit ug VPN appliance kung nagdaginot mo. You got DSL with fix public ip + server 2003 payts na.

lets have two site example:

manila & cebu

server must have 2 lan cards each and rename it to wan & lan
site1 = manila - server 2003 + fixed ip + dsl
(ex. WAN ip - 200.200.200.1)
(ex. LAN ip - 192.168.100.1)
site2 = cebu - server 2003 + fixed ip + dsl (ex. ip - 100.100.100.1)
(ex. WAN ip - 100.100.100.1)
(ex. LAN ip - 192.168.200.1)
(be sure these sites can connect to internet)

servername = manilaserver
servername = cebuserver

Create these two usernames in both servers
username = manilavpn : password = manilapassword
username = cebuvpn : password = cebupassword

Assumming you are in cebu, Enable remote desktop for manila. (by asking ur buddies on that site to enable) so that you can

manage ur manila server.

You must have administrator rights.

ENABLING RRAS for both servers
1. go to ROUTING AND REMOTE ACCESS
2. right click CEBUSERVER click ENABLE AND CONFIGURE RRAS, next
3. choose VPN + NAT, next
4. select interface that is connected to internet (cebu=100.100.100.1 & manila=200.200.200.1), next
5. ip address assignment (your choice, by dhcp or static)
6. select NO for Radius server, next & finish

for SITE-TO-SITE VPN CONFIGURATION [CEBU SIDE]
1. right click NETWORK INTERFACE, click NEW DEMAND-DIAL INTERFACE, next
2. put CEBUVPN interface name, next
3. connection type, select CONNECT USING VPN, next
4. vpn type, select POINT-TO-POINT TUNNELING PROTOCOL, next
5. destination address, put 200.200.200.1
6. protocols & security, check all checkbox, next
7. static routes, skip it (we'll do it later), next
8. dial-in credentials, put cebupassword, next
9. dial-out credentials, put manilavpn as username, skip the domain, manilapassword as password, next & finish

for STATIC ROUTES
can be found under IP ROUTING in RRAS
1. righ click STATIC ROUTES, click NEW STATIC ROUTES
2. select interface, LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)
A. DESTINATION = 192.168.200.0
B. NETWORK MASK = 255.255.255.0
C. GATEWAY = 192.168.200.1
D. click OK
3. select interface, CEBUVPN (without this interface manila network is unreachable & can't be ping)
A. DESTINATION = 192.168.100.0
B. NETWORK MASK = 255.255.255.0
C. click OK

for SITE-TO-SITE VPN CONFIGURATION [MANILA SIDE]
1. right click NETWORK INTERFACE, click NEW DEMAND-DIAL INTERFACE, next
2. put MANILAVPN interface name, next
3. connection type, select CONNECT USING VPN, next
4. vpn type, select POINT-TO-POINT TUNNELING PROTOCOL, next
5. destination address, put 100.100.100.1
6. protocols & security, check all checkbox, next
7. static routes, skip it (we'll do it later), next
8. dial-in credentials, put manilapassword, next
9. dial-out credentials, put cebuvpn as username, skip the domain, cebupassword as password, next & finish

for STATIC ROUTES
can be found under IP ROUTING in RRAS

This configuration takes less than 15 minutes, your organization is now connected via VPN without the use of
expensive VPN appliance. If you use workgroup, all PC's are visible to each other like local LAN.
You can then setup active directory so that you can manage centrally. This config works for me and this will work for you too
