    specs?...

    2.1 GHz Intel Pentium B950
    2GB RAM
    Intel HD Graphics
    500 GB SATA (5400 rpm)
20 seconds from the time you push the power and until the time ni display tong box thingy.... (i timed the video using my phone timer) usual lagging kaw between boot and login...

question lang, i expect faster boot if the system is newly installed...

    - Anti Virus?
    - Application Installed prior to this video?
    - Internet Connection?
    - Network?

kini sila maka contribute ni sa slowdown sa system... diha man gud makita ang kakusog sa usa ka system if na install na ang usual nga mga application...

once you're at the lock screen...

that's booted up already. so 10 seconds

it took me a few seconds more to get to my mouse, swipe up the lock screen, and go through my picture password to get to the start screen. then from there just another click to my desktop.

Windows 8 has built-in virus protection. From my experience... it's pretty good

the reason why i stop timer after login... kay i measure nako hasta ang pag load sa uban services... some services load during boot, some load before login and some after login... kay ug bootup lang... one indication kay ang mouse ug reaction after doing the action...

as a technician and a programmer, mao nay ako benchmark para ma kita nako what services need to be stop to boost up the booting process... kay ug boot up process man gani... my Eee PC can boot faster than that... since naka SHD siya unya wala kaayo ko software gi install...

assuming that navigation the mouse takes time... afaik during login process.. navigation using a mouse normally takes less than 10 seconds... assuming you are not distracted... rule sa UI/UX design.... make sure the user can navigate it easily... the lesser the time to navigate the better.. still it is above 10 seconds...

my benchmark is somewhat weird and non-standard because i based it sa ako experienced as a techinician... ika nga poormans-way

ato sad i consider ang Speed ug type sa HD... OC peeps correct me if im wrong..

mao rani ako ika sulti... i dont want to de-glorify win8, i just want all angle to be check and validate... for marketing purposes... i glorify jud ang imohang product nga gi endorse or support....

so far i still hear a lot of complains on windows 8, maybe kay bag-o, win8 aint perfect still has issues to check...

feature wise... nothing to be excited about...

ill stop posting sa karon to validate this ff issues that i foresee in the next 6 months..

Security and Legacy Hardware and Software Support

to be honest lang... im not really happy sa bag-o nila nga paagi sa pag login katong bitaw lihukon lang... like i said... you only need basic forensic knowledge to figure it out...

for those proponent aning win8... im not the guy who holds the pin... im the guy behind the one holding the pin...

Windows 8 Sales Well Below Projections, Plenty of Blame to Go Around

Sales of Windows 8 PCs are well below Microsoft’s internal projections and have been described inside the company as disappointing. But here’s the catch: The software giant blames the slow start on lackluster PC maker designs and availability, further justifying its new Surface strategy. But Windows 8’s market acceptance can be blamed on many factors.

One of my most trusted sources at Microsoft confirmed Windows 8’s weak start this week. And with all of the drama surrounding Windows 8 and the recent, unexpected departure of Windows chief Steven Sinofsky, rumors are sure to swirl. But looked at logically, some trends emerge.

    Microsoft blames the PC makers.
My source cited to me the PC makers’ “inability to deliver,” a damning indictment that I think nicely explains why the firm felt it needed to start making its own PC and device hardware....

    Lingering questions about Sinofsky.
While Steven Sinofsky was removed from Microsoft because of his divisiveness and his ostracizing of far too many valuable executives and employees, many will continue to wonder if some failing in Windows 8 (and Windows RT) is what in fact led to his ouster...
    ...

    Confusing range of device types.
Faced with a reimagined, touch-focused Windows that is more at home on mobile devices than traditional PCs, and responding to increasingly hysterical pleas from Microsoft to innovate more, PC makers attempted to do in hardware what Microsoft did in Windows 8’s software: Create hybrid devices that could serve all needs...

    Windows 8.
It’s a floor wax. No, it’s a dessert topping. Microsoft’s new whatever-the-F-it-is operating system is a confusing, Frankenstein’s monster mix of old and new that hides a great desktop upgrade under a crazy Metro front-end...

Windows RT. Imagine Apple announcing a major new version of iOS and then releasing a new tablet that runs Mac OS X instead of that new iOS version. Doesn’t make a lick of sense, does it? Well, that’s what Microsoft did: On the day that Microsoft launched Windows 8, it also launched Surface … running Windows RT...

Apple Cofounder Steve Wozniak Now Thinks Microsoft Might Be More Innovative

Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak says he's "worried" that Microsoft might be more innovative than Apple, reports TechCrunch.

Speaking at the TEDx Brussels conference, Wozniak said that Microsoft has produced "more of the type of innovation where you see something and you say, 'Whoa, they really changed things drastically. Whoa, they aren’t really even going in the same direction as everyone else.'"

While Wozniak acknowledged that Apple devices improve each year, he added that "improving is not Apple-style innovation. It’s not like you’re creating something astounding that you’re just gasping because it’s so unexpected."
