Java daw is for enterprise, mahal ang pag host sa Java, more code required ang java and supports multi thread..

PHP is much cheaper to host, much lesser code required for creating websites, I don't know sa threading sa PHP..

based ra ni sa akong nabasahan sauna pa..

TS, it always depends on the application.. each language has its own perks and downfalls. Like for php, you can build anything fast so usually fit for e-commerce, etc. Java EE has a lot of perks to offer when it comes to web services and heavy business applications(which you can't do with PHP alone) since we have a lot of frameworks and infrastructures available. We have built fast web applications using java, so I do know that speed will be out of the question. just my opinion since I have used the two languages.
