What are the ways to prevent or lessen [at least] road accident[s] on motorcycles

Here is my topic:
What are the best ways to prevent or at least lessen road accident[s] on motorcycles nowadays?

I know that your safety solely depends on your driving skills and attitude on the road but I just want to hear your thoughts on this matter.
I wanted to further enhance my driving skills, learn from other people experiences and become a responsible rider in the metro. Anyhow, I have been driving my first bike for almost 6 months now and thankfully, I never experience any road accidents [I did not say/put 'yet' because I am trying my best not to experience it ever. Hehe!] and I am grateful to God for his guidance and divine protection every time I ride. I have been driving my first bike for almost 6 months now.

I believe that accident happens when we least expect it. Most people say it is inevitable for motorcycles not to get involve in accidents. Some argued that you will become 'expert rider' if you never experience spills on the road. I beg to disagree on this thought.

I notice as well that most motorcycle accidents nowadays are caused by 'human errors' like reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, over-speeding wrong decision making, etc. We seldom hear accidents due to mechanical or engine failure.

What are the things that helped you avoid a certain road accident when you are at the brink of it?

Please share your experience and/or best practice[s] as it may be helpful to other motorcycle riders.

Most motorcycle accidents are caused by driver's failure to observe traffic rules, arrogance and stupidity. It seems that most motorcycle drivers are thinking that 4 or more wheeled vehicles will give way, understand and will always be considerate to them that is why most motorcycle drivers are NOT defensive drivers. They should be the most defensive drivers because whether its their fault or the fault of the other vehicle, their life and limbs are always at risk. We always see them counter flowing, overtaking at the right side, crisscrossing at very high speed, not giving way even at the narrowest available path, not wearing helmet, not following traffic rules etc.... these practices are tantamount to almost committing suicide the sad fact is they are also putting other people at risk like their passenger/s, pedestrians and even other motorists. They might as well jump of the bridge

How to avoid accidents? Pray for safety always, follow traffic rules, drive defensively and control your speed.
