Dapat ato country should make many made in the Philippines na products, vehicles, etc.

and what about the R&D cost? it cost more than the actual unit. why build something that cost too much when we can buy readily and tested systems already. where not that rich to spend way more for the R&D.

FYI lang most modernization projects was initiated by the previous administrations.... abnoy is just reaping it... kay ang budget allocation was way too slow unya nag huwat sila sa extension sa modernization law...

Some things to ponder why its impractical to go full-srdp

1) R&D takes longer than the actual development... and cost more that what it really cost on development...

2) Why reinvent a wheel when we can just buy a wheel get the technology and build our own wheel

3) Why do it alone when other country are willing to do a joint-venture...

4) It is cheaper to get commercial and reverse engineer it...

5) Money talks... political will is pure B$

maybe pwedi i order sa Astral corp sa balamban for bigger warship but design is ours but sa systems ipa source out nato sa raytheon or northrop grumman... we all know Astral corp is a ship building contractor for the US navy... at least our own people specially cebuanos wil benefit the project...

our design? ship designing is not just drawing something cool on it. its complicated, its not like your just riding a limousine services and putting some ideas in it. and R&D will again play a vital role, and damn it cost!
