Urban poor leader named DILG usec | Inquirer News

I am not particularly impressed by the recent appointments done by the president, but this one I fully agree with. This will be a big boost for DILG knowing Bimbo Fernandez and how he's worked for the Urban Poor and the City of Cebu.

So what do you think?

So the end justifies the means? What happens when this newly created position is next taken over by someone with different goals?

Pinoy just creates another position with the potential for bad as well as good. When he is no longer paving Daang Matuwid who will keep that position in check?

Why was this question not posed when GMA appointed Lito Ruiz undersecretary? Compared to Bimbo, he cannot even come close when it comes to morals and desire to help the people. Bimbo is a good man and can help the administration.

I read yesterday in the paper (chismis section) that the new USec is an ally of Tomas and has expressed that he is not readily available to work with the Cebu City Gov't while it is Tomas' enemy still holding the reins.

Of course it is only in the political chismis section.

During his term as City Administrator ni Mayor Tom, I am very impressed with his performance. Asset jud siya ni Mayor Tom. same with former PIO Nagiel Bañacia, very convinced ko sa ila performance. Mao bitaw paghuman sa term ni Mayor Tom, ni resign sila Bimbo og Nagiel.

YES it should have also been brought up when GMA did it. It does not excuse PNoy when he does it. If we say because "others are doing it/did it" as an excuse unsa na lang mahitabo sa ato. PNoy is quick to point out GMAs faults/blame her. She really is to blame for a lot, so when he does something similar he should be criticized as well.

He should have given an appointment that was existing where the current appointee was underperforming

Traditional Politics ra iyang gi-praktis. He will favor those who got him the appointment. It would have been better not to mention anything about it.

whether kining appointment naa sagol politika, whether2x lang na. of course naman, ang kontra sa politika ang pilion?? that is the reality. bisan mismo sa US, kung ang presidente is democrat, ang pilion pod sa secretary of state and other divisions under sa secretary of state, mga democrats man pod.

speaking of Rama, i doubt it. Wa gani niya dawata ang mga projects nila del mar, tomas og serge dire gani. how much more kung si Bimbo na. hahaha pero body language speaks for itself to Mike. suya-on ra na... na suya gani siya Tomas ngano wala siya ang nahimong LP nominee... he ended up a whiner/ crybaby...
