btw, saying nga dili tanan churches corrupt is not being defensive but merely stating a fact
like not all government officials are corrupt...or basin tanan na karun..Lol
ay sorry ha..abi man gud nako naa ka sa pinas nga di ka familiar og fanaticism which is one of the reasons ngano daghan kaayo mga culto niturok. And even owning their own "images" statues, replicas nga mura na hinuon ug every rebulto is unique and does not represent the same "santos"
Naay procession naka witness ko nga ga-ilog ug karga sa ilang mga isig ka santo nga pareha ra nag-huot sa karo.

Also one thing sa Black Nazarene gipakita ang atong mob mentality until now wala gyud ma resolve and nag tu-o sila naa mamatay daw (due to stampede or accidents caused by the chaos of the uncontrollable crowd) malangit or ang "gikuha"

And please don't tell me nga dili na church related practices or shortcoming sa ilang preachings giving out the wrong messages
Kay ang gusto nila sa ilang followers kay quantiy man gud than quality

naa man gud kos iraq bai..Lol! joke ra...
i for one don't really agree with how the dvotees react nga maka cause na nuon ug stampede kung kapistahan sa maong santos..
when they can visit it anytime on regular days para di magkagubot...
oh well, we can't blame them though kay mao nay naandan..
but those things are practices that are not encouraged by the church...
the things you detest were individual interpretations and expressions of faith by the devotees...
but it is not something that is solely mandated by the church

the same way muslims thought about christians as infidels and bomb cities in allahs name
it doesnt really mean that it is really what Islam is teaching

same as how politics always associated with corruption
surely it doesn't mean that politics means corruption...

just because Christians failed to act accordingly..it doesnt mean we can discredit to true meaning of its practices

Again, its not that im discrediting them, OR how would I point out what I thought are their lapses and shortcomings?
Same ra bitaw na pud kamo on those non-believers you have your reasons why you won't agree kay para ninyu gani when expressing your disagreement with others is OPINION and when opinion against your beliefs DISCREDIT dayon.
Mao man gud ni praise oriented kaayo nga practices naanad nalang puro praise pud ilang madawat

haha..sorry moks if you feel that way towards us..i know some of the christians are fundies and would go balistic if the faith is challenged..again, not all christians find the arguments of people who don't believe in doctrines about God and religious pratices
as discrediting.i for one is not and i'm pretty sure there's a lot more out there too...
i suggest you widen your horizons a bit on how you look at Christians and Catholics...
'cause you for one as an aetheist know, how bad it is to be misinterpreted and judged because of how other aetheists are portraying aetheism..

oh by the way, that statment you threw at us(Christians) which i qouted..
if you find that not discreditng Christianity, i respect that..'cause i think it's pretty straight forward that it's just for Christians not Christianity itself..
but i find it pretty judgemental, sorry bai..wa man gani ka kaila nako...hahaha...maybe you need to go out meet a lot of other Christians too...does it mean that all people who associate themselves with politics are corrupt since politics is always associated with corruption?
so basing sa imung statement bai, i think we ought to conclude that aetheists in general are judgemental....Lol

We both know that it's NOT true and thinking of such is NOT right...
cause i know not all aetheist think and look at Christians and our practices the way you do

ok bai if ing ana nalang jud imung tan.aw sa mga Christians...i would have asked what do you think about pedro calungsod
but daghan man mi ingun diri nga wa pa kaau ta kahibaw ug unsa iya nabuhat...all i know is that he was a devout catholic,an altar boy and served to preaced the gospel to the pagan tribes and was martyrd at a very young age...i would have cited friends i know who lead a good christian life but it won't matter to you anyway..hahaha

so i'll ask you this instead...if Christians were hypocrites..corrupt(business minded..hehe) and all sort of names that you labeled on us...
what can you say about the first disciples of Jesus?saint augustine of Hippo, blessed John paul II, mother theresa
saint anthony aquinas, Father Pio,St.francis of Asisi..bro.richard michael fernando who was a missionary and killed in cambodia are they judgemental and hypocrites too?basin si St.augustine kay st.augustine of hippo man siya...Lol

cge daw, tanang aetheists ba maaung tao?as in genuinly nga maau gyud?

this thread was started to honor the Catholics newly canonized saint
then you came in posting comments like...additional income na pud...
sus...so tanang aetheist di kabalo mu respeto diay?
imuha ning example akong gigamit bai ha...
basaha ra gud na imung mga comment...are those the type of comments that can promote a friendly conversation between
2 people having different point of views?

NOTE: i didn't say Christians are NOT judgemental...in fact a LOT are...
i also have experienced being judged and judged as well...
oh well...who hasnt...as what Jesus said, who hasnt sinned may cast the first stone...
    maybe you haven't

Becoming a Saint removes his being a Bisaya or being Filipino.. but he becomes a prince of the Church.
