Is it safe to shift gear while the car is running in neutral?

Hi Experts,

1)
I want to ask if it's safe to shift gear (2nd or 3rd) while the car is running in neutral. Dli sya downhill but kanang gamay ra vehicles sa road and gikan ka 4th gear then hapit nka abot sa stop light or stopping point.


2)
It seems mag lisod ko ug sulod sa 3rd gear. Naay murag mo sangit. Dli smooth. What could be the problem?

og gusto ka mo save og gas bro kay ayaw e-neutral... if naa ka sa 4th gear ka kay e-hapak lang gud sa 5th gear nya ayaw hatagi og gasolina, mo glide raman gihapon na, mas safe pa na kay sa e-neutal nimo. if kusog ang imo dagan kay mag lisod na ka og pa sulod if mag down gear ka, mao nay resulta na ig mag downhil kay mo lahoy lang dretso sa ubos kay dili naman mo sulod bisan unsaon pag down gear.

ang imo 2nd question kay na apil na nko og tubag.

tubag pod sa imo OT, naa raman ang search function sa ako bro, naay blank na field then sa ubos kay naay naka butang na advanced search.

let say nahan ka mo tipid og gas, so nag neutral ka para FREE WHEELING, pero before ka nag FREE WHEELING gkan rka sa 4th gear. then padong nka sa stop light, pwede ra ma engage og 3rd gear.. para engine brake nya mka assist na sa stopping sa imong auto.

pwede pd nimo from 3rd gear, then nag ka hinay ang dagan, shift nsd ka 2nd gear, then nag ka hinay, shift nsd ka 1st gear (1st gear i dont recommend)... pero ang kuyaw ana is mka daot sa imong TIMING CHAIN.. dali ra mo wear out, or mainat dayon ang timing chain (considering timing chain imong sakyanan)

pero y down gear kng nahan ka mag tipid gas? kng paminaw nimo, makaya ra sa brake, brake nalang.. mas mka tipid pka. hehehe.. pero dali ra ma wear out napd ang brake pads.

sa 2nd question, kng kusug2 gamay imong dagan, mka feel jd ka og effort sa pag down gear... or try to have ur clutch linings replaced ky basin dugay2 nana og kinhanlan na ilisan. kng hilis ang lining, lisud nsd ishift ang auto... bsag mag double clutch pka.

For Automatic Transmission.

Never shift from drive to neutral, you'll probably blow your transmission, there is a special function provided for automatic transmission, it is located in your steering wheel, the Coast and Cruise Buttons, If you want your Car (Auto Trans) to shift to neutral while on gear you use the Coast button, When in a highway if you dont want to step on the Pedals yo can use cruise control, the car will try to maintain the speed you have set it without you having to step on the gas

The newer or latest automatic transmission now adays sir pwede nmn ma change from DRIVE to NEUTRAL...
base lang sa giingon sa Trainer namo diri sa TOYOTA. hehehe... or I could be wrong.. basin nasayop nko og dungog.. kinsa mga masters diri? hehehe..

ang gear na akng ma suggest na dili ma sudlan from a COASTING mode is 1st gear and 2nd gear.. hehehe.. pwede cgoro 2nd gear kng hinay njd

If kusog imo dagan naa ka sa 4th gear then mo full stop ka sa approaching nga intersection, meaning ok ra moneutral ka while nag tamak ug hinay sa break.

NEVER EVER go "neutral" if naka downhill ka labi na kusog kaayo imo dagan. If dulhogon dapat naka engage ang gear (3rd, 4th, 5th depende unsa ka kakusog) para naa ka secondary brake which is the ENGINE BRAKE should the engine abnormally shuts off for whatever reason.

If mo kalit ug patay ang engine makabantay ka gahi kaayo imo brake pedal e press. If patay ang engine, halus walay pressure ang hydraulic pump para sa break fluid para mo drive sa braking mechanism. Lisud na e control sa brake plus walay kay engine brake kay naka neutral man ka.

...lets say naay sakyanan ahead sa imo so moubos ka sa shift then sulod ka either 2nd or 3rd gear if balik ka pasaka. If kusog imo dagan naa ka sa 4th gear then mo full stop ka sa approaching nga intersection, meaning ok ra moneutral ka while nag tamak ug hinay sa break...

OK ra from 4th gear then you know na mo full stop ka. Hold lang jud sa clutch. Yaw jud ug neutral dayon if kahibaw ka na mo full stop naka nya kusog imo dagan.

For me bro sakto sad na imo style na if you know ahead na pasaka naka mo ready na jud ka for lower gear. Basta ayaw jud pag neutral kung pa dulhog.
