i still think this is a good plan pero what about the jeepneys? sa kadaghan sa jeepneys and the narrow roads , samot na og naay mga buses, just look at metro manila, gahuot sa mga buses and jeepneys.

Plan is Wagtangun ang Jeepneys, hinay hinayun nuon, if asa tong Rota nga naay Bus dapat wa nay Jeepneys, Ang maapektuhan na drivers - maoy kuhaon trabahante sa BRT. Daghan mag trabaho if mag BRT like drivers, Security, tig maintain sa Bus interchange, tig maintain sa mga bus. Pero ang Operator maapektuhan jud, pero i think hatagan man sad na sila ug taas na panahon.

FRENCH Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault yesterday praised Cebu officials for choosing TransCebu or the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) as the future major means of transport, which is partly financed by his country.

Atty. Christopher Yap of TransCebu said that during his stint as mayor, Ayrault converted the Cathedral Square, where heavy traffic was experienced every day, into a bus way area that permanently solved the traffic problem.

Ayrault’s system is now being copied by officials behind TransCebu, said Yap, who is also the chief of the Cebu City Integrated Traffic Operations and Management (Citom).

Ayrault proceeded to Cebu from a state visit in Manila to attend the Trans-Cebu or BRT briefing and the inauguration of the Alliance Francaise de Cebu building on Gorordo Ave., Cebu City....

MANILA, Philippines - Visiting French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault has experienced riding a public utility jeepney in Cebu City yesterday before he was briefed on the proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.

Ayrault, his wife Brigitte and escorts rode three PUJs from Fuente Rotunda circle down to the provincial capitol building where he was welcomed by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia and other provincial officials.

BRT project coordinator Rafael Christopher Yap said that Ayrault enjoyed riding the jeepney for the first time.

Yap briefed Ayrault on the $211-million urban transport restructuring project to be partly funded by Agence Française de Développement (AFD).

The AFD is the French government’s development cooperation arm which is interested in extending a soft loan of $50 million to help fund the BRT project scheduled for implementation next year.

Cebu City Rep. Tomas Osmeña, who initiated the project when he was mayor in 2009, was also present at the Capitol.

Branded as TransCebu, the BRT system will be served by a fleet of approximately 180 modern, air-conditioned buses and powered by Euro IV ultra clean diesel engine.

Key features of TransCebu include 15 stations between Bulacao and Ayala that sit in the middle of the road.
