    bitter?
    i think not
    just practical

yes they are using old tech
but are they are at the point of phase out and discontinuattion
then they sell it to us
    which we then call "modern"

    my point of view is
we will never be able to modernize enuf to keep up (as of the moment)
we do not have enuf resources
it is wiser for us to ally with other nations

    anyways
we can have better uses for the money they are investing
healthcare takes more priority compared to war readiness
economy needs a ton of help
education i dont know where to begin

again these are just my worthless opinions
if you dont like it suck it up
there are avenues about voicing negative issues and this thread is not about that its about update... you dont talk about shits and poop over a diner table... thats why you are not contributing to the discussion its is about the update... if you have issue create another thread where you can discuss all the issues you dont like and you want to talk about... simple ra kay do... common sense lang...

The deployment, whether a build-up or not, comes on the back of a decision in September to allocate USD11.25 million to upgrade the airstrip on Pag-Asa to be day/night-capable and all weather, while hangars for general aviation aircraft will also be built. A new civilian wharf for fishing vessels will also be constructed and facilities on the island will be improved to open it up for more civilian use, the MND said.
Any confirmation on this, wala man gud ko laing link makit-an about aning hangars na himuon sa Pag-Asa..

where i studied does not have anything to do with this
so id rather not drag them into it
i am not saying dissolve our AFP
just that we are spending too much on it
if their are a few things i am sure of its this
    our policemen need guns
    coastguard needs boats
we need more mapping tools (for mindanao)
this would make looking for those insurgents easier
i just wished we focused more on the internal ones we got
    this is just for now
believe me how i wish we have those modern jets and non rusty boats
it difficult seeing those OLD equipment we have

just to be clear i am not saying we should not do this
    just not yet
we have a lot on our plate

You know the AFP is lacking but you're saying we're spending too much.. LOL pagsure oi.. We only allocate 6% of our budet on defense and the rest are for social services, economic, public services, etc. It's the sector that gets the smallest piece of the pie. Gusto pa jud d.i kag pagamyan pa jud?

ehem..i beg to disagree,we are spending less for our modernization..i think 1995 pani ang modernization law but until now wala gihapon ma tupad ang dapat unta na tupad a couple of years back..

we been focusing on internal security matters for so many years that our leaders almost forgot that we also need to buy weapons for external security proposes .and thus resulted to Scarborough shoal and mischief reef incident.
