just give them a chance people. i'm not a pro nor a con about this law.
Does this mean Trolling is now punishable by law? giyatey mag unsa nalang ko ig gabi.i
On the face of it the police have the power to scrutinize all of your online activity without a court order. This could be the result of a complaint by a third-party who need only convince authorities to take action. Authorities have sweeping powers with very few safeguards regarding privacy. If you irritate the wrong person watch out because there are now myriad ways to get you and your guilt is highly subjective.
Freedom of expression is the lifeblood of forums such as this which will inevitably die out or become little more than buy & sell venues. The situation is serious and this law needs reexamining before it gets abused by those with a lust for power or a desire for revenge.

hala bai, ma-internet libel ka sa pagtawag niya ug Abnoy!
according to jack_bauer of post #39 of this thread, par. 2 [https://www.istorya.net/forums/politi...l#post13484395]
"LIBEL can only occur when there is MALICE."
furthermore, Lakbay Pilipino made a statement in post #47 of this same thread, par.2 [https://www.istorya.net/forums/politi...l#post13486528]
"unfortunately, it is the alleged victim who will decide if there was MALICE or not."
however, balipseyev made post #63 of this same thread with a captioned picture saying: [https://www.istorya.net/forums/politi...l#post13498341]
"Did you know that a large group of baboons is called a congress? That explains a lot now, doesn't it!"
Therefore, why don’t we REDUCE the number of congressmen and senators instead of INCREASING unnecessary laws.
More laws to support more funding... more funding to corrupt!!!
By the way, by posting this, will you be charging me with internet libel?

BLACK OUT CALL
==================================
Tomorrow, October 2, the Supreme Court sitting en banc is set to hear several petitions for prohibition against the Cybercrime Prevention Law.
If the high court junks these petitions and disapproves the request for a temporary restraining order (TRO), the Cybercrime Prevention Law will take effect the following day, forever changing the Internet landscape in the Philippines -- possibly even killing Internet freedom.
AS A SIGN OF PROTEST, PLEASE TAKE DOWN YOUR PROFILE PICTURES AND COVER PHOTOS AND CHANGE IT TO SIMPLE BLACK IMAGE.
We also call on website administrators in the Philippines to take down/blacken their websites starting 12 midnight in protest of the looming implementation of the draconian law. There are several plugins available in the net to do so (GIYF).
With enough websites participating, we can be a formidable force that can compel the government to think twice.
==================================
Our dear Filipino netizens, the government is taking the Internet away from us. It is but just to reclaim it in all ways possible.
NETIZENS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!
==================================
apil ko aning black out call
