sorry sir but golden retriever's often used not to catch fish but wild ducks and birds shooten-down by their master in swaps, rivers and lakes. its so rare to bring long coated breed in saltwater since it affect alot to their coat.

i was talking about the newfoundland retrievers, like the labrador? they were used to help the fishermen haul in the nets from a day of fishing...
