if this implimented, PLDT and Globe can capitalize on this and block torrent sites.

Torrents consume tons of bandwidth and if blocked, dako kaayo ug masave ang mga telcos.

I hope di ni madayon. Lupig paman ang SOPA.

First of all, we shouldn't b*tch around about privacy since we chose to bring our lives to the cyber world. If we valued privacy that much we would have kept ice-age communication.

But I'm not amused by this stunt by the PH government. Have they not anything better to do? They can't even keep the DOH website invulnerable to hackers, now they're talking about cyber law enforcement. Who are they protecting by the essence of this law? Filipino movie makers?

Acting like Philippines is valuable online resource center. Pfff

Our ISPs have already capitalized. Ever heard of Fair Usage Policy?

I'm curious how they'd go about enforcing this law. The Philippines will have to be a police state, watching your every move in cyberspace. That's scary. That typifies the Orwellian Big Brother of "1984". Trust me, if you give the Philippine government this much power, I can guarantee you it will be abused to the fullest.

The internet was supposed to be The Great Equalizer. Access to a wide range of information and media has become more egalitarian. Now, you put a law like Cyber-crime Law, and you'll end up with the rich enjoying the advantages of the information age while the poor will be left with their error-filled DepED-approved textbooks and IQ-decreasing tabloids.

Another thing is that we should de-criminalize libel. Come on. When we were kids, nobody died because we were called names or people had bad gossips about you. You may have some hurt feelings, but that goes away after a few days and then you grow a thicker skin and you become creative in your own way of dishing out ridicule. Angay ra mana sa mga taga-showbiz ug politics...these people like to think that the world revolves around them. Grow up and grow a thicker skin! We have more serious problems to take care of, instead of wallowing over some bad things some people say. Geeezzz!!!

Beware!!! Don't find yourself defending in court, watch-out whatever you post.

The bright side is, if you haven't heard yet... Philippines Hacker Society <PHS> the lowest end Hacker in the entire Globe have their petition already, served right in front of the Philippines Government by hacking some of our very own Government Establishment which I believe that had been poorly protected to any form of cyber crime operations like hacking. And their IT said that they will focus on making the system more resistant to hacking rather than finding the hacker, so what do you think? Will they be able to have their stand to this newly signed bill that turns out to be an I don't know Law... I rather say sign the RH Bill and minimize birth of low-end hackers and low-life internet users... Cybercrime, what? dili gani o kasulbad real life crimes..cyber cyber pa mo!!!!!... DMN8!!!!!!!!!!

yeah but it's not implimented in PLDT.
but if this act is not changed, they dont need to cap, they can just block sites.

Only retards especially those who don't accept criticisms can implement this law right quick without considering any circumstances. This ridicule emphasizes much more than SOPA even our government can't protect their own websites. (Just expressing my opinion as a critic and could be my last post, I know PCL hunts right now)
