    I do mostly portrait shots and occasional landscape. Ang tumong is to get the upper part of the body from the hips up, in order to focus more on the subjects face, kinahanglan imo i blur ang background, with your subject in sharp focus (usually the eyes).

    You can get this effect by getting the maximum aperture of your lens (F1.8 -> F1., or use a telephoto lens to zoom into your subject to compress the background getting the maximum blur (or out of focus highlights). The area that remains in focus is what's called the DOF (depth of field). I think Eissen has made a good explanation on how to adjust your camera to do this on this same thread ... paki search na lang...
