umm, Muslims actually helped out in the enslavement of Africans during those times. Not saying all, but a significant number of those African slaves were from Muslim slave trade. So in that context, both Christians and Muslims are to blame for the atrocities during the slave trade.

exactly. Saddam had, at one point in time, stockpiles of WMD. After Desert Storm, the U.N. had mandated Iraq to destroy them. This was fine for a couple of years when suddenly, in the later half of the 90s, Iraqi authorities shirked from the mandate and at several occasions "obstructed" its disposal. That right there is the fishy part (however, I don't think it necessarily merits an invasion), the rest I think is a result of Dubya's folly and some guys with some interests (like with virtually every war).
