kamao ko ani pero sa pc games ra... whaha
Ikaw una share TS... ngano nag jiu jitsu manka?
one day i watched my running buddy being taught MMA...naay boxing, kicking, and some basic grappling...sige ko comment sa iya kay dili xa kabalu and i was already a fan of UFC so naa ko gamay ideas...but ideas lang coz wala jud ko nakatry...and then the instructor offered me to try...i was hesitant at first coz i never liked BJJ...even when i was watching UFC...mas ganahan jud ko sa striking and stand up fighting. besides, i had this idea na gay or binayot ang BJJ coz maglayugay ug laki, nya singot pa jud. hahahaha.
so there i was, totally helpless on the ground, i didnt know what to do. and i realized, you dont think about all the gay jokes about BJJ when you're being choked out. it was a new experience for me because i had a fights when i was growing up ( street fights, rambol sa skul- that type of thing) and i was never afraid of fighting mano de mano. but this was the first time that i was totally controlled or dominated to the point of being helpless.
so when i went home, i immediately watched some basic instructions on YOutube about jujitsu, passing the guard, getting the back, etc..and i invited that guy to have another try. of course, i am still no good. hehe. but it was a learning experience. im still no good but im looking forward to learning. i like BJJ now more than striking because i can exert all my effort during sparring or " rolling" without being afraid of being hurt or hurting my opponent. unlike in boxing or kicking when one hit can really hurt a lot. =)
Ang naka disadvantage sa any martial arts without skills in ground fighting... if naana ka sa ground, finished na ang fight. Much more if ang imong opponent knowledgeable sa throws, blockings and lockdown. Mag nganga/tulala nalang ka.
Still, if efficient ang imong stand up fighting, possible dili nimo ma tagaan ug chance ang grappler para ma take down ka. Ma bun-og ug ma knock down nalang ang BJJ practitioner, wala jud siya naka retaliate nimo.
Opinion nako, well balanced lang jud, kabalo ka ug stand up and ground fighting, defense and offense.
do u practice Bjj bay? what started you? what inspired you to learn the art?
I'm practicing yawyan, pero apil man sa among training ang grappling and takedowns. Interested pod unta ko mo cross train ug BJJ, pang additional mastery, unfortunately sa among lugar wala man nag offer diri.
Way back in high school, kita ko ug fist fight sa school. Confident nako ato kay praktisado gud ko ug karate for 1 to 2 years.
Sige paman gehapon kog praktis bro. Saksak sinagol ra among training. Jiu jitsu with aikido, then next day kay kicking and punching na pod. Plano gani ko mo cross-train ug pure boxing, kay lousy kaayo akong punching.
Lingaw man pod ang training. Diretso na ba. Wala nay kata, principles2x ug mga homily2x, etc... Kapoy lang usahay labi na gikan work then ulan2x pa jud.
what age mo nag start learning ug BJJ?
