Tail docking is an aesthetic procedure that most vets dont do anymore because of an animal rights issue. Though there are a couple out there who still does the procedure at 500 php per pup if i'm not mistaken (dewclaw included). If you really want it properly done then i suggest you go look for those few vets but if you are really keen at tail docking your pups and would find it hard to find a vet then i suggest you go to Youtube or try a search thru the net. You will come up with two possible procedures...a direct amputation but will require a few stitches or banding which most experienced breeders do. I just had my cocker spaniel pups banded on their 5th day and they dropped the tail on the 10th. They are now almost a month old and are doing pretty well, the wounds are closing quite neatly. The pups usually cry on the first day of banding but just make sure they have their mom at their side always....if the pups stop feeding due to the pain then you'll know that you've tied the bands too tight....so if ever you are going to choose banding....just make sure you have it done by someone with experience or do a loads full of research....goodluck!
