Aron mahibal-an gyud nato with our own eyes, let this anting-anting be demonstrated or by a non-members.
Considering they don't brake any simple rule, dili pa sila ani kung mapamatud-an daghan muduol sa ilaha og mupalit.
But the fact is, until now wala pa ta kita.

Sa akong nadunggan, dili ni pede idemonstrate sa general public ang anting-anting kay supak sab sa ilang rules. One of the reasons that we don't see them perform their feats about things like dili kublan, dili makit-an ug uban pang katingalahan... But I won't bet my money's worth that they can show something that is special for the masses.

I heard my lola had one. My pa cant verify it though but he heard from my aunts and uncles that it was true and that was why lola almost never sleeps but never gets tired, that she saw entities that they cant and communicated with these entities. They also said that lola knew when she was going to die... but dont know... its so hard not to believe when your father is the one telling these things.
Did you pa inherited something from your lola? I'm curious enough that something like this traces back from the few gifted people who have met mediums or something to them that was part of their daily life. I read from an article that a clairvouyant can foretold future things or even predict something will happen to loved ones. I also read from a different forum that Andres Bonifacio had anting-anting that can't be hit by bullets until he was betrayed by General Aguinaldo... the story was long so I just trim it to make it short. But the fact that you pa believed that her mother had anting-anting is something that both your parent and grandma had special bond because he knows it (but not confirmed).

yes my pa did inherit something from lola but it wasnt the anting anting. What lola gave my Papa were 3 verses, all of which protects. 1 is to protect from anybody with bad intent, 2 to protect from harmful object, and 3 general protection. Of the 3 verses, he only remembered the third coz he thought that its the most important one. And true enough, maskin ikapila na siya na-aksidente, he doesnt have a scratch on him coz he says the verse everytime he goes out of our house.

Pa said that all 3 verses came from the anting anting of lola.

i have a talisman... it's a sharks tooth. it's not gonna make me invincible or anything... it's just a charm... it makes me feel safer and confident when i'm surfing (it's a symbol of respect cguro sa ocean ug sa mga iho na gitawag nila ug "landlord" sa dagat) . ako ra sad na... i know na preha ra gyapon kung wala ko talisman but i feel a lot safer with it around my neck mao na dili gyud nako tang-tangon even when i'm on dry land.

ingon sila na strong daw na na talisman ang sharks tooth especially for people na naa sa dagat pirme. ang fish hook sad daw ug coral beads...

Brod, what I can tell is that "you believed in something for your safety..." - me too, personal safety is one of the concerns in life... mao nga there are anting2x, charms, yam2x, pangadji ug uban pa because to these things/verses are need to cling on for life. Cult or not, basta dili lang binuang.

Personal view? Wa pa man ko kakita gyud personally but here's my view. Almost everything can be explained. The things that can't be explained are often due to our polite Filipino nature that inhibits us from openly questioning somebody else's version of events. Otherwise almost everything can be explained as either coincidence or luck, and physics. There are groups in the Philippines who demonstrate their power over steel by chopping away at their arms with sharp bolos without fear of being cut. I wonder if a slicing motion (instead of a cut) would be more efficient in drawing blood. Personally, I would not want to prove my case by volunteering to slice somebody's arm. I guess everybody has their family tale. My own family story comes from my uncle who was a policeman in Pasay at the Lapiang Malaya massacre. According to him Valentine de los Santos' anting anting didn't work.

But we must be very careful against making general statements. Valentine's anting-anting worked against bullets. That was why he survived the shooting. Its powers, however, did not extend to blunt weapons. He was beaten to death inside his prison cell. Some people will distinguish between mysticism as a path to self-improvement, and the cultivation of psychic powers. One can be a great mystic with no superhuman powers, and one can have strong powers but no enlightenment. Just because a guy has superior psychic powers doesn't make him a better person, just as a guy with bigger and stronger muscles doesn't make him superior.

Lastly, a food for thought... Did you know that the spiritual exercises practiced by Jesuits are very similar to the rituals of numerous pagan occult traditions?

It's not a matter of belief, but that of allegiance.

In the Exodus story, Moses turned his staff into a snake. The Pharoah responded by calling his magicians who in turn turned their staves into snakes. Moses' staff/snake deveoured the magicians'.

The event is a symbolism of theurgy (magic through divine intervention) versus thaumaturgy (low-magic or magic through lesser spiritual beings).

Being Catholic or a Christian does not mean denial of the existence of mysticism. What matter is the source of that mystical power.

OT: bro sinyalan... daghan kaayo copya ang christianity sa matter sa ritual and observance sa paganism... if naka noticed mo... sa lain2x lugar halos lain2x ang holidays sa catholics... like the veneration of the sto. nino... murag sa ato raman ni... like saint patricks day sa ireland... sa ila ra pud na. mu copya sila aron dali ra sila maka convert... hence, christianity is the chief of all major religions.

even sa anting2x... hehehehe... kanang st. christophers medallion and kanang crucifix. it's against harm daw. ionno kung acknowledge ba gyud ni siya sa vatican but christian do wear them for protection.

The Staff of Moses turned into snake is not to show magic, but to show the great magicians of EGYPT that their magic is no match with GOD.

    Peace!
