TS, here are my suggestions:

1. Think of your interest. Mao na imong topic. Example: Dresses, Night life, photography, about being a mommy, working at home, how to be a good wife, etc. Its better to have 1 topic para focused imong site. Things nga kanang naay interest jud sa imong life para daghan kag masulat.

2. Since you said that kabalo naka SEO, after selecting a topic, do keyword research then select keywords to start with your site. Choose the best keyword or the keyword that best describes your site and buy it as a domain. .com .net and .org ang recommended. Adto lang sa godaddy, naa puy hosting didto barato ra.

3. Use wordpress as your website framework. Then find a free theme depending on the topic. Customize if needed.

4. Write articles using the different keywords you have selected in number 2. Then do SEO para mu appear sa major Search engines like google and yahoo.

5. You can then point your future employer to your website.

Portfolio you can brag about:
-The website itself is created by you. As a web designer, pwede mas panindutun jud nimo ang theme or customize it. Then you can apply as a web designer.
-The articles: originally written by you. Pwede ka as article writer.
-The SEO part of articles. Pwede ka apply as seo expert ipakita lang nimo ang articles na na rank nimo.
-You can apply for adsense daun if ok na ang content sa imong sites. That way, you can earn more.
