    This is bad news. After WW2 Japan became a pacifist nation with limited military capability, these territorial disputes and the constant threat from North Korea may be enough to rekindle militarism and an accelerated arms race on our doorstep.

    The islands are already under Japanese control and have been for some time. All that has changed is private ownership to state ownership.

    I agree. They can defend themselves, high tech na ilang defense.

    The Chinese started claiming it when it was discovered that is rich in oil resources. With the increase in nationalist politics in both China & Japan, they are unlikely to backdown on this dispute.

    this is the right time for CHINA to assert her military might in the Pacific, USA as of the moment is hand tied with IRAN crisis..

    sa ingon pas report sa US, should US engage to IRAN right now it will cost them doubled or more than the Iraq & Pakistan wars, how much more engaging China..
