politics has nothing to do with counter-insurgency, strategy na sa afp panahon pa sa huk... so political will is not needed beside politics and military should not mixed

if you are talking about politician reaching local leaders those are not counter-insurgency.... gilikayan na nila mangilabot ang mga politico sa counter-insurgency... kanang politico mo interfere lang na sila after the counter-insurgency... have you been to a medcap?

anyways... i dont argue nalang sa imo kay it will be endless and out of topic na...

schools being built by the afp, bridges, roads.. reaching out in public needs etc. those are the main counter insurgency program right now.. they want to loose/lessen the support of the rebels from the people. the afp is trying to address what really is the main reasons of rebellion, and it usually starts from lack of government support from there area. less educated, afp is calling for the support of both LGU and private entities about this issues.. and lots more.


its not all bullets to counter insurgencies.. but yes, they're trying to eliminate those pesky hardcore rebels/bandits too.

It's Operation Bayanihan...

IPSP-Bayanihan is touted as a shift from traditional military operations to civil-military campaigns aimed to curb the armed struggles primarily of the communist New People’s Army and other armed rebel groups.

The military dubs the IPSP as a multi-sectoral campaign that opens up space for the involvement of the Filipino people in defining, shaping and ensuring long lasting peace in the country.

President Aquino’s security agenda focuses on the people and calls for amulti-stakeholder approach to peace and security and on protecting our rights andcivil liberties. The approach of the current administration’s national security thrustinvolves four specific elements: governance, delivery of basic services, economicreconstruction and sustainable development, and security sector reform. Incompliance to the pronouncement of the Commander-in-Chief, the AFP crafted theInternal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) to serve as the guide in the performance ofits mandated functions of protecting the state and the people. It shall help AFP unitsin planning for and contributing to the attainment of internal peace and security
