I'ts a win-win situation for Cebu. Our insurmountable foreign debt will be erased and there'll be less chance of further corruption (should this be sold piecemeal). Wala nay labad ang city for infrasturcture maintenance.

Or this could just be our city's marketing strategy so Bigfoot will fast track it's plan to acquire the 16-hectare Pond F of the SRP.

Hayahaya! Pamahin mo beh!

You look at Colon today. So when SM told me they want to lease to build a mall I said no not interested. It’s a low, low, low priority,” he added.

There’s no question on whether the SRP should go to only one developer. More importantly, what should be considered is if the development will benefit the entire city. Will it generate more jobs for the people? And these should not be limited to jobs like salesclerks...

SRP was envisioned to be an employment generation project and whatever will rise there should serve its purpose....

it should be a win-win deal...im sure na-ay profit gihapon ang city ani but not as much if ang city mismo maoy mu manage, but lets face the fact that cebu city is not capable of developing the SRP, private sectors are better developers....

agree. mas maayo gyud if private companies ang mag-develop and manage sa SRP. Much better if the Cebu City Gov't. will form a consortium and invite major developers who have proven track record in developing and managing Commercial Districts. To name a few, Megaworld Corp.(Eastwood City), Robinsons Land Corp.(Ortigas CBD), Ayala Land(Makati CBD,The Fort, Madrigal Business Park, etc.), Filinvest Land Inc.(Filinvest Corporate City), and SM Prime. Of course, the CC Gov't. should maintain at least 15% share of the consortium, this way it will earn a huge income as the value of the SRP appreciates in the years to come.
