Do not entertain gifts from a suitor cuz that gesture itself sends so many messages (most of them, dili nindut paminawun)...
if you are given a gift and you accepted it, this is what I would think:
-the person who received it is materialistic
-the person receiving it is ignorant about gifts
-the person receiving it seemed desperate in a way that she won;t say no to a gift cuz nobody has ever given her one
-the person can easily be bribed by small, free things given to her
-the person is cheap... I mean, why take it when you can afford it?
daghan paman. But my bottomline is, don't accept it. it really sends the wrong message.
Be graceful enough to say "No thank you, I appreciate your offer, but my boyfriend could also give me one of those!" without hurting him. if he insists, then, mao na na... the guy giving those gifts intentionally wanted to be your number two.... Cuz he knows if you accept the relationship offer, he'd slowly take you far away from your LDR boyfriend, little by little through material things...
These days INDEPENDENT WOMEN are in!!! A woman who could buy herself things she wants to buy without asking too much from their boyfriends... Sometimes, being financially dependent makes guys give up... I dunno, I havent tried being financially needy, but from what I observed from some people I know, 7 out of 9 financially needy women ends up getting dumped by their boyfriends....
anyway, layo nag naabtan ang topic... basta. NO gyud! not unless gusto gyud ka... just think twice... every man always ask for something in return... My dad says so and I believe him.
