its A-Okay.... A lot of people are also doing this setup... so instead of TV tuner, they opt for a TV-monitor... which is either way fine... Your concern about the hardware side depends on the brand you bought.... ^_^

One important factor is the 4:4:4 color support, not all HDTV's support this feature. This mainly impacts colored texts or images that deal with red or magenta, barely affects movies since a lot of movies are in 4:2:0 color modes even on bluray. crossing my fingers that the EH5000 series has 4:4:4 support.

best way to find out is to measure the color gamut using a colorimeter

Color gamut has nothing to do with the 4:4:4 color support, those are two separate 'specs' on the TV and they are rarely published, maybe <1% of made HDTV's publish this spec.

No special instruments are needed to test for 4:4:4 you just need a PC for this and a TV that supports DVI/PC mode on its HDMI1 port and the correct test images, on a windows environment or gaming 4:4:4 color support is extremely important since *everything* will look slightly off.
