Thanks for reopening the thread @spring, though I'm guessing its gonna be a whole lot quieter without them resorting to ad hominems and rhetorics due to the fact that they can't present a single valid, logical, non-biblical reason as to why Marriage equality should be illegal. And I place emphasis on "Marriage Equality" because at the root of it all, this is what its about--Equality. There shouldn't be such terms as inter-racial marriage nor gay nor lesbian marriage: Its just marriage, the unification of 2 consenting individuals before the eyes of the law.

    This bishop says it all

Or marriage between man and beast.

We are going around in circles.. again and again You are comparing apples and oranges. The issue at hand is legalization of marriage between 2 consenting adults of the same ***. I think the issue couldn't be more black and white than that.

btw, do we really have to use the term "retards"? quite insensitive don't you think? I believe the term you are looking for is "differently abled"

    cheers!

please do elaborate, at which part was I comparing apples to oranges?
And can you discuss further how those pictures were immoral? please spare us no detail

what is your basis of categorizing something as moral or immoral?

Actually, he will never see it as comparing to apples and oranges...because he thinks heterosexual relationships is the same as homosexual relationships...For short, he is blinded on looking at what is obvious!

It's like seeing a huge pink elephant in the room and no one bothers speaking about it! Because for some people...a PINK elephant is normal when it truth....it's not!

And there you have it, the root cause of this issue. You treat Homosexuals as second class citizens and that they should not be afforded the rights that you enjoy. Thanks for making that very crystal clear

You may not realize it but you just validated my point why marriage equality should be legalized

    Cheers!

Really now? Don't be too evasive when the issues are not in your favor. Please refer to your quote particularly the words in bold below:

If consent should be the only basis for legalizing marriage then:

A brother and sister could both be consenting parties in a contract of marriage.
So could a child and an adult.
Same goes for the mentally retarded.

But why are these unions unrecognized and even banned by law?

It's not all about consent. The state has an interest in preventing such unions.

Same goes for marriage between homos. I would definitely say that marriage between two mentally incapacitated people is no different from two homosexuals who wish to do the same. Not exactly your "apples and oranges" argument. More like different animals, same beast.
