Beginner paman pod ko sa YY, I aspire to learn more as time unfolds....

Bitaw, para sa mga adult nga ganahan makat on ug serious martial arts, try Yawyan or Muay Thai. If makaya pa sa lawas ug sa time, learn basic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu para dili ta dehado sa "ground fighting".

Actually, if ur older and dili kaau athletic i suggest BJJ more than Yawyan or Muay Thai. I have nothing against the "striking game" coz when i was younger mao ni ako ganahan. Mao ra sad general idea sa majority about martial arts...to win the fight or overpower your opponent by hurting him through hitting him.

i prefer BJJ coz it allows you to bring a fight to an end without really hurting your opponent. YOu can immobilize and control your opponent until he settles down. YOu can take your opponent's back and choke him, put him to sleep if he is still uncontrollable, without hitting him at all. You can choke someone and put him to sleep quickly and also he will recover quickly. Not so by kicking or punching. The only way you can put him out is by hitting him in the head really, really hard. That my cause permanent damage or even death and you wouldnt want that on your conscience.

but for self defense when your life is in danger, i say resort to dirty tactics...just kick him in the groin and run. Throw anything you can put your hands on like rocks, dirt and sand, or even coins to his face. Enough to distract him and give you time to escape. Running is the best self defense i know. there's no reason to stay and fight, unless its your job ( like, police officer, soldier) or youre protecting someone that you can't leave behind. in that case i still recommend dirty tactics...use any weapon available like pens, tinidor, broken piece of glass or bottle.

Like Musashi the great samurai said, "Use any means necessary to win." That means using any weapons available, any tactics you can think of. NO need to be macho or hero. Most heroes are dead.
