    It's permitted if it can be done justly. We know that it existed way before Islam. Islam just placed restrictions (if u look at the Bible about David, Solomon etc).. If a man can't treat them all equally, he cannot marry more than one. If a man insists on marrying more and his wife objects, she is free to divorce him. Monogamy doesn't stop anyone from cheating.

    I understand that. I just want us to stay on the same page.

    1. Do you consider morality as absolute?
    2. Is it moral (in your belief) to have more than one wife given the provisions na the husband will treat them right and equally?

    sis, a true christian will not have the guts to do such act of betrayal. If there will be such case, marriage will gradually shattered or they'll suffer the dire consequences of it.

    There are always consequences sis. It would be unfair for those who dont have the financial capability. If that's the case, only the lust of the rich people will be justified? I agree that monogamy cannot stop anybody from cheating, you don't know that polygamy cannot stop also? The problem here sis is not having 1 wife or multiple wives, but what's inside the heart of man. If the holy spirit dwells within a man, there's no room for cheating and betrayal.

    @labelleza

    I would ask you one thing, in your honest opinion especially being a pinay, how would you feel if your husband lay with other 3 women and let's say more beautiful than you are? are you still confident that his love for you is 100%?

    talking about love, you can feel the difference between a christian and a muslim partner.

    First, we need to know the truth. What is your basis of truth?
    Measuring the truth depends on our worldview, how we connect our belief with the existential reality. All religious systems should try to answer these 4 basic questions:

    1) Origin - where do we came from, whats human's origin
    2) Meaning - what is the meaning of life and our existence
    3) Morality - how we konw right from wrong
    4) Destiny - what will happen after we die

    Only in the christian faith where all these 4 are answered with coherence and consistency.

    Cut the mumbo jumbo. What is your basis for morality? Is it the absolute source?
