Apologizing and upgrading is the best and most common approach to resolve the "guest's issues". And always having ang back-up unit does help a lot. I would really agree with this!

Pero ako pangutana is if kahibaw ba mo kung unsaon pag-remove sa "smoking smell" sa sulod sa unit.

I do know that we are "front liners". Pero dili ba mas efficient kung kahibaw ta sa gibuhat sa housekeeping & other departments? If we know what the other departments are doing, mas dali ra resolve ang mga guests. Diri man god sa amoa, Front Desk and Housekeeping are symbiotic two teams. Anyway, do correct me if sayop akong panan-aw.

    Tnx.

ur right sir.. .housekeeping should work hand in hand with the F.O. department to avoid guests complaints and I do believe nga standard procedure na nga F.O. should know the housekeeping operations.. .naa bya nay housekeeping report e.pasa sa F.O. so base on the report F.O. will know nga kana nga room VCL ba na or OCL ba or maybe under maintenance...if ever naay complaints well you can easily figure it out asa ang lapses. ..=)

actual removing of smoke smell in rooms are definitely difficult. in college i used to have a housekeeping major. they taught us the DO's and DONT's and a lot more. but unfortunately i do not know how they do that. on my own point of view, i think they have to air out the room, spray a lot of fresheners and etc. if i do have the time, i would love to learn, but you know how busy FO are. it takes a lot of skills and physical abuse just to clean a room. i know they are doing a Yo mans job especially if quota is around 15 to 18 rooms a day. and one more thing, not all hotels esp. FO and housekeeping have good relationships, more of a complicated one.
