I don't know what made you say that. Gays aren't trying to infringe on those "religious liberties". What made you think so? It's their marriage, not yours.

You marry whoever you want to marry,
Again, it's illegal for gays to marry at the moment here in the Phils.

just don't force others to recognize it.
It seems the word "recognize" has been used frequently on this thread. Nobody's forcing anyone to "recognize" Juan and Pedro's hypothetical gay marriage. Or do you mean they shouldn't force the state to recognize/acknowledge their supposed marriage? Do the majority own the state now? I thought it belonged to everyone including minorities, each deserving to be heard?

Or did you mean the church? Well, in that case the church has every right not to grant Holy Matrimony to gay couples. It has its own rules written in stone and I doubt any gay movement is trying to change that.

    However-

State affairs are a different matter. If anything, it's the church that's infringing on the rights of gays to marry before the state by influencing politics. (See also RH Bill)

Give me examples of laws that discriminate.
Again, it's not exactly written law (to my knowledge), but it's illegal for gays to marry at the moment here in the Phils. Movements aimed to prolong said illegality is in itself, discrimination.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The very act of withholding Marriage rights to Gays and Lesbians is discrimination in its purest form. It sends the message that LGBT couples are not as good as their straight counterparts.

If you take just a liiiitle bit of time to look at the picture, and maybe consider for just a minute that not everything revolves around you. Your arguments are going around in circles without actually posing valid points that hold any water.

You say that society is not in favor of it? Since when is human rights left to public opinion. Whats Popular is not always right, whats right is not always popular.

there's no exact law that illegalizes gay marriage but it's illegal? Do you know what illegal means? Gay marriage is not illegal in this country, but it is illegal in a muslim country. See the difference. You can infact live together with your partner without the fear of imprisonment or coercion from this government, hence it is not illegal.

Since it is not illegal, what are you saying about equal rights? You have equal rights... What you are against is the belief of other people that gay marriage is not good. I don't agree that gay marriage is necessarily bad, i see it the same way as heterosexual marriage.

It is this perceived illegality that makes LGBT feel that they are being shortchanged with rights. PERCEIVED ILLEGALITY. The Church is not infringing your rights because their ability to campaign, protest, and influence politics is protected and guaranteed by the Constitution, just like how you are protected by the Constitution.

What would be the right thing to do in instances like these:

    1. You are a driver responsible for the lives of several passengers. You lose control over your brakes. Up ahead you see two people on either side of the road. One is a straight man and the other a homosexual. If you were to choose between both to cushion the impact of your moving vehicle, who would you choose?

Choose the homosexual. The other person could be a father. The homosexual isn't even human.

A passenger ship is sinking and you are the first in a lifeboat built for 10 people. You see 10 other people in the ocean. Welcoming an excess of even 1 passenger will sink the lifeboat so one has to be excluded. Among all 10 is a doctor, a fisher man, a basketball player, a seasoned seaman, a prostitute, a drug addict, a paraplegic, an old lady, Bear Grylls, and a homosexual. Who do you choose to exclude?

Nothing is certain in this kind of situation even with Bear Grylls around. Death is still imminent especially in the open sea. Though you might not be able to save everyone's life you can still save everyone's soul except... You guessed right, the homosexual. By excluding the homosexual in the likelihood of death, the lifeboat and all on board is to sail straight to heaven since there is no existing encumbrance. So in instances like this, choose the homosexual.

Homosexuality is just an inconvenience society tolerates.

For me, those people who thinks the issue of same S*E*X marriage is NOT a big thing are idiots and just looking at things in front of them. The consequences of this issue is Way more bigger than just allowing some immoral acts to be legalize.

Uh... Living together is not marriage.

It is illegal for two people of the same s3x to get married in the Philippines:
