I tried working for a small hotel in Dumaguete before TS, naa jud foreign guests mahilig mo over deposit using debit card. We use petty cash fund to "refund" over payment upon check out. We also ask guests estimated period of stay and service they regularly require para naay estimate and we can suggest an amout for a deposit. asa ka na hotel TS?
Your right. but debit cards are tricky. you cannot verify nor authorize or else it will deduct straight from our guests account. If they dont have any other cards, ( it is their usual alibi ) but CASH would be another solution. Most hotels should have a SOP's on proper handling of debit cards. that is just my opinion.
Complimentary room ONLY. Guest insisted that it includes BF. jeez....
