Math subjects in IT is different from Engineering. Discreet Mathematics in IT is all about logic. I would suggest take the Engineering before going to IT.
The first two years in Engineering you'll be dealing with basic mathematics like Algebra, Trigonometry, Solid mensuration, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus (Integral calculus is the reverse of Differential Calculus) , Engineering Economy, Engineering Mathematics and others while in the 3rd year to 5th you'll be dealing with more on Engineering.
