    And what's all this talk about death LOL I love my life currently because I embrace it as is--it is an honest attitude, and this honesty is what is refreshing, compared to any form of spirituality/religious views. It gives a proper perspective on how to go about daily activities without having to worry about certain imagined obligations and whatnot--live life to the fullest based on reason and logic, and happiness is actually quite attainable. Cheers!

    Makatawa hinoon ko usahay nga naa ko'y mga friends who are religious/spiritual yet they live miserably, and thus usahay gani masuko sila (perhaps even masuya) nga they know I am an atheist but I remain cheerful and easy to deal with--and it's simply because I accept life as is Sila dili man.

    Does this mean that your belief was influenced by the belief of your parents when you are still growing?

    I know what you're trying to do here--you are again trying to show people that my opinion is not my own, and it comes from my parents. But here's the catch--my parents allowed me freely to choose my concepts as I was growing up (unlike other parents WHO FORCE THEIR CHILDREN to adapt whatever religion they are in), so since I was free to do whatever I wanted and choose whatever opinion I wanted, I then examined the data as I was growing up (I first read about evolution when I was eight years old, grade II, and had very interesting discussions with it with my parents over dinner, this is the kind of family I have, we always discuss all things scientific and philosophical at the dinner table), and came up with my own conclusion about how I understand the data, and that led to my opinions and concepts to the present day. So you therefore cannot say I was "influenced" by my parents and thus you cannot force the readers of this thread to think nga dili akoa ang akong ideas and concepts on atheism, because it is based on my own understanding and opinion, backed by the scientific community and people who do understand what atheism is all about.

    No offense meant sir, but you seem to be a quite practical and reasonable person, and so I “assumed” in my statement above that if ever you embrace death (as everybody else will) you won’t be needing extravagant funeral rites nor super expensive coffins and burial lots….So, there it is,, money per se won’t be a problem for you when it comes to that situation. We’ve seen and heard poorer people who died & buried in a much cheaper BUT decent way.

    As for your plans of jumping overboard and THE “something else” that I am trying to comprehend….Well, here’s flow………I myself can hardly believe what you’ve just mentioned (jumping over board due to ailments to save hassles) , I’ve been reading a lot about your posts here and it’s well appreciated even if there were times that I don’t totally agree with your opinions….But hey your frankness and the way you present your ideas and the way you defend your “own” principles and beliefs radiates a certain kind of inner strength….I should say “exemplary” inner strength……Now, if I had to relate all of these with your plans of saving burial costs and hassles by doing a perfect swan dive in middle of the sea (lol), for me it does not make sense at all...(where was the inner fire that I constantly see in rodsky? ). That’s why I wondered and asked myself, "there might be something else”.. (no offense meant to you)

    ….But then again, perception and definitions regarding individual principles are HIGHLY subjective. What I “might” be seeing as weakness or error in a person might just be the exact opposite for the said person. ..I should give my respect for that.

    @Rodion,

    I admire you for being a hardcore atheist. But before you found out that your tumor becomes malignat and you will jump from the boat to the middle of the sea with a heavy stone attached in your body, kindly go to your province first where you were born and go to the church where you been baptized as a Christian (libog ko, imong parents were agnostics pero gipabunyagan ka sa simbahan?), and get a that certificate of excommunication to tender your being an antheist like your other atheist friends did.

    Yep already in my plans, hopefully will happen within three months, depending on my trip budget (I was born in Paranaque, Metro Manila, I think I was baptized there as well). I'll post the certificate here once I get it.

    BTW, I don't think there is a hardcore atheist or mild atheist--only an atheist. In fact, I don't think the term "hardcore" can be applied to me--you don't see me entering a Catholic church and shouting "There is no god!" I have better and more exciting things to do with my secular life.

    Bitaw sir, try to reconsider your worldview if it has coherence and consistency to answer life's deepest questions. Dli man gud nato madeny ang morality within us. God bless sir!

    Actually there's no pain, but I know there's something wrong with it. I'm not a doctor, but I know human anatomy.

    Reconsider? LOL, on the contrary, I'm actually turning kids into critical thinkers (so far, I've shared to over 70,000 kids already, and the number keeps rising)--granted, there's no guarantee nga tanan sila mahimong atheists (but that's beside the point), but what I aim for is that these kids learn how to choose for themselves by being critical thinkers, instead of being "automatically swooned" by people like you, heliopause who tend to say things like "If you don't follow god he will punish you" and other threatening kinds of ploy to ensure you "ensnare them" into being religious/spiritual. Again, mas honest ang pamamaraan ko.

    This is what happened last night at a school in Agdao, Davao City...I was controlling our NexStar Schmidt-Cassegrain 8-inch telescope, and pointed it to Saturn to let 300+ kids view it...

    If all reactions are like this to what I show them, it's easier for me to let kids become people of logic, reason and critical thinking This is why I love my job. At least I'm quite sure that some of these kids won't grow up to be like heliopause or yung mga iba dyan na talaga namang passionate about their being theists and knowing that, I can die a happy man.
