Default DIY Color Gels and Snoot for Flash

Hello guys, I just want to share my cousin's blogsite where he posted how he made his DIY Color Gels and Snoot. Tried making my own version and I love 'em! To the budget conscious photographer, hope this helps! The site also features a couple of beginner's tutorials on post processing Here's the LINK

First of all..gaw! hahaha salamat sa post maulaw sad ta oi! hahaha! and sir P-Chan, I made the gels and snoot specifically for my flashguns, for studio strobes though I guess you can make bigger versions of these. However, since studio strobes emit a much powerful light than flash guns, the plastic cellophanes might melt/burn easily Thanks for the question Sir

for the plastic cellophane delikado lang nga ma sunog ug mopilit sa imong flashgun kay nipis ra kaayo na... naa na syay limit nga malanay labina kung dool ra sa flashgun... so delikado kaayo... and also di sad mgdugay kay nipis unless imo ibotang ug maayo nga cases para in case mg travel travel ka..

in my case i bought rosco gel ( < 500) with different grade of colours nana 12pcs. since wla may holder ang rosco gel naghimo kog akong holder which is very simple ra..

    single gel

Lampshade at the right with DIY diffuser, Nissin Di622 at the left with warm brown plus smooth yellow plus blue colored gel. ISO100, F11, 1/125, Auto White balance, Black satin cloth as backdrop.

Nikon D70, Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG Macro

No Post-processing here, the blending colours achieved by stacking colored gels

For double blending of 2 gel and 2 flashgund

Nissin Di622 with Rosco Strobist gel 3 blue stack gels at the right, Nissin Di622 with Rosco Strobist gel 3 purple stack gels at the left. Mosquito coil as source of smoke.

    Nikon D5000
    Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro

for different color effects sa glass

Thanks for the comment master mike! And I do agree with you, the cellophanes have a big possibility of burning due to the heat of the flash. But that is why the Velcro straps are for to keep a nice distance between the gel and the flash head to prevent it to be in contact with each other. And if it does burn or melt in the long run, its okay since you can always make 20 more other gels from the left over cellophanes you have. And unless you're going to use a gel on every shoot you have, I don't think its gonna burn that soon. More amazingly, it only cost me 120 pesos to do this project including the snoot
