it's been a while nawala ko sa kahanginan in search for a greener pasture..pasensyahi na intawn ko ninyo mga igsoun..karon nga mejo nakaginhawa ug nakaluag-luag nako gamay, id like to share some inputs on the TOPIC itself..

for people working at heights-NEWBIES or EXPERIENCED (mountaineers, cavers, rope access technicians, etc):

*** KEEP in mind that it is more comfortable for us to understand the basic terminologies on Knot Tying or Ropemanship..Nowadays sayon ra kaayo i-google ang almost tanan terms..Be sure you understand and DIFFERENTIATE the following basic terms below..
    - KNOT
    - HITCH
    - LOOP
    - BIGHT
    - LASHING

*** It is also helpful to IDENTIFY at least 3 parts of a rope when you are about to start to tie.
    - WORKING END
    - STANDING PART
    - STANDING END

*** Knot names also differ from most prominent groups (boy scouts, outdoor people, sailors, rescue professionals and etc.) that uses them but they are just basically THE SAME..below are samples:

    - SQUARE KNOT is the same as a REEF KNOT (sailor's term)
    - DOUBLE LOOP BOWLINE (rescue professionals) is the same as BOWLINE ON A BIGHT (scout's term)
    - SHEET BEND (scout's term) or BECKET BEND (firefigther's term) is the same as BEAKER'S KNOT (rescue or rope access professionals) v.v.

The reasons why they differ is the way they are being used (PURPOSE) by each group. Should you guys have 2nd thoughts, see to it that you have get things researched or have yourself trained by professionals who are in line of your field of interests.

Having enough knowledge without practice makes your Knot Tying skills dull and blown into thin air..A 4-5 meter UTILITY rope is not that heavy to carry on in your EDC kit (Every Day Carry)..Bring ONE and make it a habit of practicing your Knot Knowledge when you get BORED!..

Til then brothers!..See below for reference..
