    Last night, while I was doing my dumbbell bench press, the guy on my left performing a barbell bench press almost shattered his eyeglasses because his arms gave out. Good thing my trainer rushed to his rescue. Last week, I also saw a foreigner performing a barbell bench press but it was too heavy and he was arching his back. My trainer also rushed to his rescue. The week before that a guy cut his head because he didn't check whether he locked the handle bar of the triceps push down machine (or so I'm told). I didn't see what happened only the aftermath. He was holding his towel over his head and there was blood all over the place.

    Makasabot ko kani utot (it almost happened to me but I usually go out and do the utot-izing there, he he) but I still don't get why some do what they do in the gym. Either they're ignorant (daghan man tutorial sa Youtube how to execute properly unta) or as some of you have said, pa-impress sa uban.

    this is where I had my embarrasing moment and learned my lesson the hard way...

    i was only working out for only a few months that time...i did chest/tri that day, the gym was preparing for closing time, my friends except me were all in a far corner also preparing their stuff to go home, the bench press with 2 50lbs plates with locks on each side was still on it and i said, how about one more pump! positioned myself on the bench, gripped the bar unracked it and i felt the weight was still ok for 8reps...1st and 2nd rep - easy!...for the 3rd rep I felt a sudden decrease of strength on the way up the peak extension...so i said I can still squeeze one more shit on this...i slowly lowered the bar then gave it all i had on the way up...to whatever unknown force that interfered it stopped halfway, gave all what was left in me but shit it was slowly going down and I cant even stop the descent or even control where the bar should go, i guess i was depleted of any strength left in me until it rested just above my collar bones and for some stinkin pride i did not call for help before it was too late, well it was too late no sound was leaving my vocal cords and i slowly realized i was beginning to be short of oxgygen since it was already getting blur i was about to pass out and every attempt to move the bar was futile... the next thing i know i hear people rushing to me and grabbed the bar brought it back to the rack.

    lesson learned: just a hint of doubt about the weight im about to lift - just have some1 to watch over you, does not need to be holding the bar just watch!

    hehe! I would I had the same hardcore way of lifting sa una.. Every set to failure guyd..

    One time I was doing dumbbell press with a pair of 70s. I had some skinny guy spot me a little para maka failure ko or pass over it. Anyway, while I was on my 8th rep, my right arm give in, down came crashing the dumbbell on my right chest. I wasn't nervous or anything, I know I did not injure myself as I had slabs of muscle na sa chest (luckily though..) but the weirdest thing was... si kuya na nagspot kay siga man kaau ang mata ug ningong "Ayaw nako pa spota next time ha! Ginerbyos gyud ko nimo da!" hahahahaha I was speechless thinking I myself knew nothing was hurt, didn't even pull a muscle... Well, that was embarrassing though.. being scolded by a spotter.. lol

    not embarassing kaayo pero sakit sa hawak. i was doing a 250 pound seated cable raw when the cable snapped. pwerte pagka tuwang nako.
