    If you believe in the church, then go for it.

    If you think that the church is unnecessary, then don't. civil nalang

    albeit its usually the girl or the girl's family.

    well, i put it this way, if you're buying food, naai fastfood chain.
    but if you prefer the well-service while dining go for the restaurants.

    like in getting married, if you have problems with money you settle for the cheap ones.
    chruch married or civil are both sacred and sanctified by law of men and God.
    mahal lang gyud if you do it sa church. but it doen't mean you'll have a solid married life ahead than getting married on a civil court
    or vice versa. it is still the couple who will decide their faith, and their path.

    depende ni xa for the bride... naa baya mga parents sa bride very demanding kaau, sa church jed... so ang groom ani no choice... hehehe

    Either can be ok.
    Civil wedding can be one way of saving money for other investments (eg buying house & lot, starting a small business).
    Church wedding can be a way to share the joys of marriage with friends and family but it will cost a lot (only for those who can afford or have extra money).
