I'm half-American, and have lived with Americans for 25 years, so I know sh*t. Here are my counter reasons for your bastard, red-neck, Mofo husband:

    1) (my husband think our best tourism is the girls,...) Then have him go to f**kin Vegas or Downtown Manhattan, he'll see tourism at it's best. 50 year old Hookers rugged with disease and has banged like 400 men in her last 4 months!
    2) (because streets are the playground of the children..)
Then look at Detroit. You will see a playground. Mindanao has a better crime rate than Detroit, or even Iraq.
    3) (our politicians are corrupt ..)
You see this everywhere in the US and the world, not only in RP, you see it in NYSE, ENRON, Syria, Greece,etc...
    4) (small shanty houses in major roads...)
What does he expects of a Third world nation? Resorts and Skycrapers?
All 3rd worlds countries have their own slums. Even the US has their own, ever heard of " Hell's Kitchen" in New York?
5)(he never rides PAL,or sea ships of the philippines..)
That's his problems, he can ride a Chinese steamboat and eat cats and dogs for breakfast. If that's what he wants. Or go to Somalia and find a pirate ship.
6)( filipino vehicle drivers are boang..)
I can agree with him on this, but these drivers do need something to earn, and they're not really that bad. Comparing to India or Mexico, where taxi drivers will kill you for your laptop.
7)(hospitals are too far to be alive)
Is he kidding? What does he expect hospitals are established? Every suqare mile? Like every corner of the street we need one hospital erected?
8.) (that ambulance brings you dead on arrival..)
Another thing, I can agree of, our paramedics needs better training, but it really depends on the situation. If a guy has all his guts and organs hanging due to stab wounds, would he still have a chance?
9)( majority of us lives in 2 dollars a day..)
Oh yeah, and those pe0ple who live with 2 dollars a day, sing songs, plays guitar, we watch movies together with neighbors, play cards, go swimming, go to church, and we're living happy even with that 2 dollar crap.
Unlike the American lifestyle ( Just TV and a couch).
    10) (everybody wants to leave the country..)
Because Capitalism in this country is screwed up. The Government isn't supporting our professionals, but how can he badmouth us, if most Americans wanted to go to Canada, or go to Europe to study or work? China has this migration problem too and so with India.
11)(government agencies is money greedy,he can prove it,..)
This is an aftermath to all underpaid staff on any given government agency or institution. Oppression leads to corruption. Go to Russia or Mexico, you'll see much worst.
    12) ( majority just eat rice and fish..)
Wow, and majority of Americans eat these fastfood garbage, BigMac, frenchfries, BurgerKing...
Most of them die due to heart problems, kidney, Cancer,Liver, etc...
Filipino fishermen who gets to eat only fish and rice live more than 70 on the average and dies of old age.
13)( we fight with each other...)
    And Americans or Europeans aren't?
14)(we do not produce anything,if we do,no quality..)
Philippine productivity has stagnated due to xenocentrism, and love for foreign products. I do agree with him on this one, but we cannot blame this present generation, since this roots from past Conglomerates who has brokerage and ties with American and Japanese manufacturers in the early 60's and 70's, destroying local entterprises.
15)(have a very beautiful place but the government is busy in corruption..)
You can't blame the government on all aspects of National failure Einstein. It has to come from the poeple who voted these scums.
    16) ( homes here dont have grasses)
And American homes do not have bamboos, what's his connection with grasses? Does it make a family better to have a lawn? But at least our divorce rate is really low, compared to US divorce rate of almost 45%!
    17) (he wonders what country's future be..)
And I wonder what the future of other 180 nations who have these same problems he stated. He can be the messiah and wear a white robe and a white horse and save the world?

My perception of him, your husband ( If he's from the US) is from the southern states who doesn't appreciate exotic cultures, hates negroes, white trash who can't find a white girlfriend, lives in a motorhome, works in a car rental or coalmine, never heard anyting about a" 3rd world country", eats porridge for breakfast, listens to redneck music and comes to RP to marry one of our women and whines about where she comes from.
    He's a total REDNECK!

and more....all these are present in his mind,i cant change it,he shakes his head to my country
i cant take it anymore, its killing me,its hurting me,i have been defending my country eversince,i always give counter reasons to my husband, but it just makes him see me as no clue too!
now,im tired defending,in the end i realize my husband is true.im leaving philippines now,if i come back, that's becoz of my family.

wow, that was a good agony, you must be very patriotic/nationalistic. but i don't see your situation as disturbing as you perceive. those are normal observations which your husband is entitled to. for as long as he doesn't hurt you and he provides for you, and you are happy with him, i can see no agony at all.

you love our nation so much by defending the country but there you are trying to leave soon...unsa man jud??!!! tabang!
