you know why meds here costs more? ask the doctors... junkets, plane fares, PR, outings, concerts, golf tournaments, hotel accomodations...

the drug itself including research, packaging & decent marketing & promotion expense should not make medicines expensive. these are not luxury items but the promotions & marketing were spent on luxury, hehe!!

i don't know how much our gov't, if they do tax medicines which are mostly imported. medicines should have minimal or no tax at all regardless if it is imported or not. DOCTORS on the other hand, SHOULD be TAXED!!!

Very true indeed. You go to a hosptal not to be treated but just to observe. Try to watch the numbers of med reps going in and out of the doctors rooms. Daghan kaayo. Dako ug gigasto ang mga drug companies ini. I heard from a friend that in most of the countries abroad this is non existent if now outlawed. Pero dire sa ato. Morag fiesta mga hospital kay daghan kaayo ug med reps nag promote ug tambal ngadto sa mga doktor. Mao na nga mamawi gyud ang mga drug companies because of this scheme.

Medicines are usually expensive because companies put so much money on R&D. For those who need lifetime medications, it's practical to buy generic medicines. After all, what they are concerned is their health and the amount money spent on it. It's great that we have a cheaper alternative to branded medicines.

hmmm if my memory serves my right,during sa akong pharmacy days , usa sa ang naka pa dala mahal ani is ang marketing(med reps, advertisements, etc.) ug ang mga incentives nga gihatag sa mga pharmaceutical companies sa mga doctors aron andg ilahang tambal ang ang i recommend sa doctor.

during that time naa mi sample alaxan which cost 5 pesos ... our teacher said that the production cost of creating a single tablet of alaxan will only cost 1-1.50 pesos imagine 3.50 or more than 50% of it goes to marketing alone.

thats why some drug stores are force to buy these medicines in our neighboring asian countries esp india and thailand kay grabeh ka barato ila medicine, and sell it here in pinas at a lower cost compared to other leading brand of same mixture

Ok raman ang generic nga tambal.
Unfortunately, diri sa ato nasud, ang mga generic dili kasaligan.
Govt. agencies concerned should look unto those generic medicines circulating in out market.
Inspect and enforce the law.
THis way, if our government can assure to us consumers nga mga generic brands circulating kay of good quality,
then I will prefer to use generic kay same effect but of lesser price.
