No, the most important thing is to have God in our lives. Of course prayers are done wilfully. We don't pray for His benefit, it is US that needs HIM. Jesus is the Messiah and without him, we would not be Muslim.
Jesus pbuh is seen as Divine in Christianity because he was born without a father (God said "Kun faya kun" meaning "be, and it is"). Now we know that Adam and Eve were born without a father NOR mother, wouldn't that make them even more Divine? God does not beget!
Remember the Ten Commandments of Moses pbuh. The first commandment: "Hear ye O Israel, The Lord thy God is ONE". Jesus' job was to reinforce the law of Moses (The 10 Commandments) as they (the Israelites) were going astray and not to start a new religion. Muhammad pbuh is in the Bible too. Jesus told of the coming of a comforter after him (Muhammad) who (in John 16:13) "will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come". Jesus said that! Muhammad pbuh was chosen to remind and reinforce the same teachings of the prophets before him.
The books written about Jesus were written 90-100 years after Jesus. One of the concepts that Saul/Paul introduced for his "new Jesus" was that: he died on the cross to wash eternal sins of the children of Adam. A new covenant was created by Paul who said they did not have to observe the Sabbath which is one of the Ten Commandments. That's why Christians now worship on Sundays. Constantine (Emperor of Rome) worshipped on Sunday because the Romans and the Greeks prayed to the Sun-god. They also believed in the Moon-god (Monday), Thor (Thursday) etc. Gods of the Romans. Before this, worship was on the Sabbath.
..Now, Jesus was allegedly crucified on "Good Friday" in the afternoon which for Jewish people is Saturday or the "Sabbath" and on Sabbath, persecution or crucifixion is not allowed. It would have taken him around 3 days to die coz they only drove nails through his hands and his feet. He was left to be humiliated, tortured and die a slow, painful death. How can someone die on the cross before sunset? Also it says, after he died allegedly, a Roman soldier stuck a spear in his side and water/blood came out. But if someone is dead, the heart wouldn't be pumping any water/blood right?
The Qur'an states that God saved Jesus and raised him up to Him until his return. The Qur'an is telling the truth. In the words of Shaykh Khalid Yasin, it's not "crucifixion" it's "cruci-FICTION".
This is not a challenge, this is my rational explanation as to why I believe in what I believe.

hi sis,
just wanna share something about the Christian faith if you don't mind
what Jesus was refering to when He said that a helper would come is the Holy Spirit.
a proof of the Holy spirit is when Jesus' initially cowardly apostles came out of the open during
early Christian persecution times.when Jesus was about to be crucified, peter denied Him 3 times
and when He died. His apostles were hiding in fear that they might end up like Jesus..
and as promised by Jesus to not be afraid as the helper would come and through His resurrection
the apotles became stronger than ever..fear has been wiped out from them..they first experienced
the power of the holy spirit on pentecost.and after that nothing has been the same..
the previously afraid apostles of Jesus has spread the gospel even to the point of death..
almost all of the apostles were martyrd.this is just a sharing sis..
by the way, i would also like to read the quran.can it be bought from any regular bookstore?
oh and in addition to what you posted earlier..Jesus took many blows,scorging..and a lot of beating before the actual crucifixion.that could have helped Him die faster..
and about the blood and water flowing..i heard it has something to do with His position on the cross..
which complicated to His lungs and heart..hehehehe..you might wanna try searching the net for it...
and it is written in the old Jewish scripture that in His woulnds we are healed..
basically promises about the messiah which perfectly describe everything about Jesus...
as a Christian,Jesus is the messiah and He should be enough..His sacrifice was for the salvation of mankind..to escape death as Jesus is the fulfillment of passover feast in the time of moses..
death come to egypt to take the lives of their first born, but God instructed moses..
toslaughter a bull as a sacrifice and spread its blood on the doors of the hebrew houses to escape death
in the new testament..Jesus is the one fulfilling it as a sacrifice.
and in the Christian faith, mohammad maybe a profit but Jesus would be the only God and His spirit would be the only helper.again this is purely sharing sis, this not a challenge either..

You are called christian when you follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. When you don't you are Anti-Christ.
@ LaBelleza
Christianity during Paul's time was very different with Constantine's, there's also a few hundred years barrier to these changes. There's no definite relation with Paul and the worship of idols, and holidays which the established Roman church practiced. During the early days of Christianity which was then called, "The Way" Paul made important changes to break Jewish customs like the Sabbath, circumcision, food among the Gentiles believing that relying on these traditions belittles the purpose of Jesus Christ salvation for all and problems like these would only bring division between Jews and a Gentiles (non-Jews).
-- Galatians 3:28 (Paul's letter to the Church of Galatia)
"There is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
@LaBelleza,
about the JOHN 14:16 if we would read it until 18th verse..
it would state as
JOHN 14:16-18 NKJ
16 "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever,
17 "even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
18 "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
if Jesus was referring to muhammad, how can muhammad dewll in us?
and here is another bible verse that tells about the Holy Spirit..
JOHN 15:26 NKJ
26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
Those were Jesus' words from a King James bible.
Jesus also taught His disciples to not to worry what to say
as it will be His spirit who will give them what to say..![]()
@noy: "what Jesus was refering to when He said that a helper would come is the Holy Spirit" - that is one translation. however i believe in the one I mentioned more.
Regarding the Qur'an, u probably can purchase from any bookstore. They should have english translation.
"oh and in addition to what you posted earlier..Jesus took many blows,scorging..and a lot of beating before the actual crucifixion". well they wanted to humiliate him so in order for that he would have to still be alive. God would have never let that happen that's why He ascended him to heaven.
Muhammad pbuh supported Jesus...ummmm he dwells in the Muslims....coz he carried on the same message as Jesus pbuh (which is One God...the message of Moses (which is One God).
@machinecult. "Christianity during Paul's time was very different with Constantine's, there's also a few hundred years barrier to these changes." Note: "changes". There u go @heliopause.
We have some diff views...well at least we're not anti-christ.
i see..but i guess this is where we part our ways then but with much respect to your faith
however what is important for me as a Christian what matters most is that we believe in the same One God
which surpasses all the religious barriers and doctrine differences..God bless you sis.
if ever you would consider some references/questions regarding our faith..you and other muslims are always welcome to ask![]()
