You actually made my argument. I mean no offense to anyone here but to heavily rely on the US and talking about war. Isn't it better to avoid massive conflict especially when weapons available now can wipe out cities at a time? My point is that never trust another country when it comes to policy making as they put their interest first before others. You may view the US as the fearless protector of the world, but let reality sink in that their individual soldiers maybe honorable but their system may not be as honorable.

And just to heat up the conversation a little bit, didn't the allied force ask the US to assist them during the start of the WWII? They sent weapons, goods, artillery and such but only committed to the war when the Harbor was attacked. Neutrality Act of 1930s.

So, you may say that you read a lot of history books but don't try to make an argument on incomplete data.

1. I am not a war enthusiast.

How did you arrive at the conclusion about me? I detest war and all the miseries associated with. While most of you read about it, watch movies about it, hear about it on tv and the internet, I do not, and stay away from news, movies, and articles about war, for deep personal reasons.

2. I do not understand why you would want to know about my survival skills and how is that related to the discussion in this thread?

3. You question fits another thread of its own, I might answer in that thread if you create one.

4. Only those who are insulated from the horrors of a real war can say with light humor the word "GUBAT-GUBAT". War is one of the worst event of humankind. It is certainly a lot worse than barko nga malunod.

My preference is all about military books on technology, handbooks, history related to military warfare and etc, and this is not to be considered as "FANTASY". There are previous histories of wars that can be applied in the modern warfare tactics. Though it's evolving. I don't think its FANTASY nor fantasizing it.

Your question is trying to test us whether to be considered as "bookish" or more on theory or on actual application. I tell you, being a Captain of the ship, I will first save the passengers including my family and make sure everybody is secured before going out of the ship. Your argumentation and thought is obviously obtuse and slight with respect to the thread.

You tend to personalize the discussion by affixing labels for me, "war enthusiast", "brave and courageous". If you are trying to mock me as a person, you are not the one to succeed in that department.
