I don't think Google+ is going to go the way of Orkut. For one, Google+ is more fully integrated with the rest of Google's services, unlike Orkut. For another, Google+ has a much larger corporate and business user base, so I imagine it's going to be around for quite some time yet. Feature-wise, I feel that Google+ is stronger than Facebook in that regard. Still, Facebook is the lead social network right now, but the problem with being on top is that the only other direction is down. I've seen some small exoduses from disgruntled Facebook users switching to Google+, but not so much the other way around. Given time, I get the feeling that Facebook will slowly drain while Google+ gains, in some weird version of internet osmosis.
