Daito ryu is very real.

from what i heared the abellana Daito Ryu said that it is affiliated to rengokai, heres the international directory for the Saigo-ha Daito Ryu and Rengokai. I guess you can ask people over there.

it is also very important to ask the instructor about his/her qualifications in the art, seems insulting-buts not, it is the right of the student to know, if the instructor cant answer straight-ill be very doubtful. the minimum years of training under the supposed teacher would be about 5 years under his-her sensei.
the instructor must be highly qualified, coz sword work is very dangerous, esp with the real sword- someone might lose a finger or two, like what happened to other students.
